Claims, Contact Center, and Digital Enablement (C3DE) is looking for a Senior Scrum Master with experience to manage the execution of initiatives supporting our Digital Enablement initiatives across our portfolio. The assignment for this role is to support The Hartford’s new Value Stream for Enterprise Document Management, Publishing and Business Process Management. We are seeking a highly motivated, results oriented individual with strong Agile, technical and leadership skills.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office location (Add locations) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of 2 (minimum) Digital Enablement development teams supporting new capabilities, maintenance, technical upgrades, etc.
- Educate and coach the team in Agile Methodology, ensuring that the agreed Lean-Agile process is being followed and aligns with The Hartford’s Enterprise Business Delivery Model.
- Acts as a role model for servant leadership.
- Role requires ability to influence and work effectively with key stakeholders and business sponsors in a timely manner.
- Organizes and facilitates ceremonies, identifies improvement opportunities to optimize velocity and quality while mitigating risk, supports and manages backlog health, and plans for future milestone releases.
- Tracks and communicates the overall team progress providing visibility to stakeholders (Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives, Sprint Planning, Quarterly Planning, etc.)
- Leads team maturity effort through continuous improvement mindset.
- Serves as a filter to remove impediments to progress as identified by the team.
- Protects the team from outside influences to ensure the team remains focused on Scrum Team priorities.
- Partners with the Product Owner and Product Manager to ensure the backlog items are prioritized based on business value and ready for the team; supports teams KPI’s.
- Drive continuous improvement mindset.
- Partner with integrating LOB application Teams and application Production Support/Reliability Engineering teams.
- Partner with and manage vendor implementation partner and 3rd party vendor integrations.
- Manage and oversee resource planning and financial management for application Team.
- Foundational understanding of application technology framework to guide and support team in delivery; demonstrated ability and desire to learn new technologies.
- Matrixed reporting, provides coaching/feedback to ensure team success.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience working and managing Agile team structures (Scrum/Kanban). Experience with SAFe is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodology, rules, and practices
- Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
- Strong Knowledge about Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Burn Down Metrics, Velocity etc.
- Resource Management Skills: Ability to determine supply and demand and obtain necessary resources across a matrixed organization to complete the work successfully.
- Agile Mindset: Embody Agile core values of openness, courage, respect, focus, and commitment. Infuse Agile principles, practices and methodologies to achieve team success.
- Strong technical skills including understanding of technical architecture
- Deep experience partnering with LOB stakeholders
- Superior organization skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present confidently before a large audience.
- Effective organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$108,800 - $163,200
