The FormativGroup is adding a Senior Solution Engineer – Financial Services to our team who will partner with sales, industry, and delivery leaders to shape winning Salesforce transformation opportunities across Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, and Banking. The Senior Solution Engineer – Financial Services is a senior individual contributor who partners with Account Executives, Industry SMEs, Alliance teams, and Delivery leaders to shape winning Salesforce transformation opportunities. The role will focus primarily on Insurance and Wealth & Asset Management clients, with Banking as an additional area of coverage. This individual bridges business process and technology by understanding how clients operate today, identifying meaningful opportunities for improvement, and designing practical Salesforce solutions that create measurable business value. The ideal candidate combines strong consultative skills, relevant financial-services industry knowledge, and deep Salesforce expertise, exercising sound judgment to balance business outcomes, user experience, implementation complexity, and long-term maintainability.


Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to qualify financial-services opportunities, shape technical strategy, and support pursuit execution.
  • Lead discovery sessions to understand current-state business processes, user needs, operational challenges, regulatory considerations, and desired business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Industry SMEs to translate strategic priorities in Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, and Banking into practical Salesforce solution approaches.
  • Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solution alternatives while clearly articulating business, technical, regulatory, and implementation tradeoffs.
  • Design scalable solution approaches leveraging Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Insurance capabilities, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and modern integration patterns.
  • Develop compelling demonstrations, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and executive presentations tailored to client-specific scenarios across Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, and Banking.
  • Partner with sales leadership to develop technical win strategies and differentiate Formativ throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead the technical portions of proposals, RFPs, RFIs, Statements of Work, and client presentations.
  • Work closely with Delivery leaders and Solution Architects to ensure proposed solutions are practical, implementable, and aligned with delivery best practices.
  • Contribute to reusable demonstrations, reference architectures, solution assets, and presales collateral for priority financial-services sales plays.
  • Capture insights from financial-services customer engagements to help improve offerings, sales plays, demonstrations, and solution assets.
  • Apply working knowledge of relevant financial-services processes, including advisor and relationship-manager productivity, client onboarding, service, distribution, policy and claims operations, and data-driven engagement.
  • Work effectively with Industry SMEs where deeper domain strategy or regulatory expertise is required, while retaining ownership of discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and technical win strategy.
  • Maintain current Salesforce certifications and continuously expand expertise in Financial Services Cloud, Salesforce Insurance, Agentforce, Data Cloud, and emerging platform capabilities.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years in Solution Engineering, enterprise consulting, solution architecture, or a comparable customer-facing role, including meaningful experience in financial services.
  • Demonstrated success supporting complex Salesforce transformation initiatives and consulting pursuits within Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, Banking, or closely related financial-services segments.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, including Financial Services Cloud, relevant Insurance capabilities, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to analyze financial-services business processes and translate requirements into practical solution designs that balance value, complexity, risk, and maintainability.
  • Outstanding discovery, facilitation, presentation, communication, and executive engagement skills, with the ability to establish credibility with both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Sales, Industry SMEs, Alliances, Delivery, and Executive Leadership.
  • Practical understanding of financial-services operating models, terminology, customer journeys, and regulatory constraints, particularly in Insurance and Wealth & Asset Management; Banking experience is also valuable.
  • Salesforce certifications required; Financial Services Cloud, AI, and Data Cloud certifications are a plus.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.


Compensation

The Salesforce Solutions Engineer will receive a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including base salary, variable incentive compensation, and benefits.


Location and Work Authorization

This is a remote role with potential periodic client travel. Candidates located in the Northeast United States are preferred.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency. The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. 

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc. 

Estimated Compensation Range:
$155,000$175,000 USD
