Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a high‑impact Senior Sales Director for the UAS & UAM customer Business Team to serve as a strategic focal point for leading business development and customer sales with several strategic OEM customers. In this high visibility role, you will own account, pursuit strategy, value articulation to drive growth across Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) programs while collaborating cross‑functionally to ensure alignment with Honeywell Aerospace’s autonomy, avionics, actuation, power systems, thermal management, navigation, and integrated systems portfolios.
Operating as a senior customer facing leader within the UAS/UAM business, this position will play a key role in enabling the broader organization’s UAS growth ambitions while sustaining critical UAM customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Growth Across UAS & UAM Markets
- Identify and pursue opportunities within UAS programs across commercial, dual‑use, and defense segments.
- Lead sales of Honeywell Aerospace’s portfolio of products across autonomy, avionics, control systems, navigation, sensing, power systems, actuation, thermal management, and integrated platform solutions.
- Ensure seamless support for existing UAM programs while expanding Honeywell Aerospace’s reach into emerging UAS platforms.
- Direct deal gates, including deal review with business, engineering, and legal
Establish and deliver on sales targets, customer acquisition goals, and market share objectives as defined by leadership
Lead Strategic Account Ownership
- Independently own account leadership for multiple high‑value OEM customers, contributing directly to Honeywell Aerospace’s UAS growth ambitions
- Drive full opportunity lifecycle including requirements shaping, pursuit strategy, proposals, negotiations, contracting, and long‑term relationship management.
Build strong executive‑level relationships with OEMs, operators, integrators, and platform developers.
Execute Structured Sales Processes
- Develop and maintain disciplined pipeline processes, funnel management, and account planning approaches consistent with team standards.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasting, and opportunity qualification for leadership review.
- Apply strong analytical and strategic skills to assess market trends, competitor moves, and ecosystem developments.
- Support quarterly MOS business reviews, present pipeline health, forecast accuracy trends, highlights and challenges and critical pursuit gates
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Influence
- Partner closely with offering management, engineering, and program teams
- Bring structured Voice of Customer (VoC) insights into Honeywell Aerospace to help shape product roadmaps and long‑term technology investments.
- Navigate complex internal discussions to ensure delivery performance, resource alignment, and cross‑organizational coordination to support customers.
- Customer Experience & Program Support
- Ensure exceptional customer engagement through proactive communication, responsiveness, and alignment with the program team.
- Act as the customer-facing business interface for program reviews and negotiations
- Industry Representation & Leadership
- Represent Honeywell Aerospace at industry events, marketing and technical forums, association meetings, and regulatory discussions.
- Communicate Honeywell Aerospace’s technology and solution roadmap confidently and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Sales Team Enablement & Mentorship
- Support the development of junior sellers and account managers as the UAS/UAM commercial organization grows.
- Provide informal leadership, coaching, and best practices that strengthen overall team capability and execution maturity.
You Must Have
- Significant experience in aerospace, defense, UAS, UAM, or high‑technology aviation markets.
- Proven success owning complex customer relationships and leading full capture sales life cycles, from early engagement through contract award.
- Develop, maintain, and execute the pursuit plan, including win strategies, internal resource and bid and proposal funding alignment.
- Drive internal Schedule Executive Approvals, involving financial and business case reviews and required phase gate exits to support the commercial offers to prospective customers.
- Strong experience negotiating contracts, shaping account strategies, and driving major pursuits.
- Excellent communication, executive presence, and cross‑functional influence skills.
- Lead development of Honeywell Aerospace’s technical and commercial responses, ensuring differentiated and competitive offerings.
- Ability to drive price-to-win recommendations and competitive discriminators in Partnership with Product Offering, Engineering and Finance teams
- Ability to operate independently at senior levels within customer organizations.
- Ability to travel extensively (25%-50%) and work onsite in Phoenix.
We Value
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Aviation, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in and familiarity with UAS, autonomy, avionics, navigation systems, perception sensors, or advanced aircraft systems.
- Strong understanding of aerospace systems integration, aircraft platform decision cycles, and supplier selection dynamics supported by analytical and strategic capability with the ability to translate customer and market input into actionable plans.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with high bias for action in emerging, fast‑developing ecosystems.
- Ability to build trust quickly and sustain strong relationships in highly technical customer environments.
- Familiarity with FAA, EASA, or other regulatory frameworks, and compliance management
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, drive organizational transformation, and champion new business models in emerging markets
- Repeated interactions with export‑control processes
- Understanding compliance workflow bottlenecks
