What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for a Senior Research Scientist to lead foundational research and applied ML work for creator-focused tools at BeatStars. You’ll design, build, and deploy advanced machine learning systems that directly power creative workflows for music creators.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and development in generative and creative AI for music.
  • Design, train, and deploy production-grade ML models.
  • Work closely with a lean, cross-functional team across product and engineering.
  • Translate research ideas into scalable, real-world systems.
  • Maintain clear technical and research documentation.
  • Stay current with advances in ML and AI and apply them to product innovation.
  • Contribute to publications, patents, and long-term research direction.
  • Mentor and guide future research team members.
What You’ll Need
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
  • Proven experience building and deploying ML models in production.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP/RunPod).
  • Familiarity with Docker and modern ML infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with generative AI models in Production.
  • Prior research publications.
  • Passion for music and creative technology.

Our general global core working hours are 10 am-2 pm EST Monday through Friday. While we generally have the flexibility to build an 8-hour workday, we ask for flexibility during core hours, as from time to time, it may be needed to attend global calls that cover more than 2 time zones during these hours. We ask folks to schedule events when possible, at least 3 working days in advance.

Compensation:

This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles only) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. The range shared on JDs is a broad range to cover multiple regions. Candidates will be given a specific range based on their city/country during the initial phone screen. 

Salary/OTE is just one component of our total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for additional benefits and perks that BeatStars offers.

Remote US salary range for this role is $177,000-$229,000.
