About Us:

Blockworks is a financial media brand that delivers breaking news and premium insights about digital assets to millions of investors. Our content, newsletters, podcasts, and events provide investors with the critical analysis and information they need to make smarter decisions about digital assets.

Who You Are:

You’re a strategic thinker, operator, and connector with a deep passion for crypto. You’ve worked directly with protocols, understand their challenges firsthand, and know what it takes to bring a network from launch to adoption. You thrive in strategy roles where you can blend structured problem-solving with crypto-native insight to drive meaningful outcomes.

You’ve led complex, high-impact projects with autonomy, built strong client relationships, and developed custom solutions rooted in ecosystem design, token economics, and go-to-market strategy. You’re equally comfortable mentoring teammates, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and sharing your perspective with the broader crypto community through writing, podcasts, or public speaking.

What You’ll Do:

As our Senior Protocol Strategist, you’ll lead major client engagements, design strategic solutions, and execute deliverables across a range of protocol initiatives. You’ll serve as a senior member of the advisory team, shaping client relationships, mentoring others, and helping grow the overall practice.

Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:

  • Own and Lead Client Engagements: Manage high-priority protocol relationships, acting as the primary point of contact. Ensure clients receive high-touch service, strong strategic guidance, and measurable results.

  • Design Tailored Solutions: Conduct competitive assessments, analysis, and market research to identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with clients to define objectives, scope deliverables, and align on key milestones.

  • Deliver Exceptional Work: Lead the full execution lifecycle of strategic engagements with minimal oversight. Create detailed reports, executive-level pitch decks, and other client-ready materials. Manage feedback and iterate quickly.

  • Drive Business Development: Partner with the sales team to scope engagements, write compelling proposals, and close new deals. Use your network to identify and unlock new business opportunities.

  • Build Strategic Frameworks: Develop models for ecosystem design, developer adoption, benchmarking, and institutional engagement. Help codify Blockworks Advisory’s approach to protocol strategy.

  • Be a Public Voice: Publish research and insights on protocol growth, governance, and GTM strategy. Represent Blockworks Advisory at conferences, on podcasts, and across public channels.

  • Mentor and Collaborate Internally: Support junior team members, partner with data analysts, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up with evolving trends in crypto and share knowledge across Blockworks Research and Advisory.

Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.

What You’ve Done Before:

You bring both strategic depth and hands-on experience with over 3+ years working in the crypto space in a product, growth, or strategy role. You’ve worked at or with leading L1s, L2s, or major DeFi protocols and have delivered measurable impact through product, growth, or ecosystem initiatives. You have deep knowledge of blockchain ecosystems, token economics, and growth strategies.

You have a proven ability to manage complex client engagements from pitch to delivery. You have deep experience analyzing onchain and offchain data to surface strategic insights. You are a clear and compelling communicator, comfortable presenting complex topics to both highly technical and non-technical stakeholders.

It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:

Held roles in venture, growth advisory, or institutional crypto strategy. Worked with Python or similar tools for data analysis. Created dashboards, models, or data visualizations to support strategy. Built a public presence through writing, podcasting, or speaking.
