The Role

We are looking for a Senior Protocol Engineer to help design, build, and refine Plasma’s core protocol. You will be instrumental in advancing our consensus functionality, enhancing protocol security, and delivering high-performance features that meet the demands of a rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.

What You Will Do
  • Design and implement core protocol components in Rust, with an emphasis on performance, security, and reliability.

  • Investigate, prototype, and optimize consensus improvements and other distributed systems components.

  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure best practices in cryptography, testing, and documentation.

  • Identify and resolve critical scalability, latency, and reliability challenges in a decentralized environment.

  • Contribute to open-source initiatives that strengthen the Plasma ecosystem.

Who You Are
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software engineering with a strong background in distributed systems or blockchain technology.

  • Proficiency in Rust and systems programming fundamentals.

  • Proven track record of delivering production-ready code for mission-critical applications.

  • Hands-on experience with consensus mechanisms, cryptography, or related areas of protocol engineering.

  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, low-process environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have
  • Previous contributions to open-source projects in the blockchain or cryptography domains.

  • Familiarity with stablecoins, DeFi, or other crypto-focused use cases.

  • Experience with performance tuning, profiling, or stress-testing distributed networks.
