Senior Protection and Controls Engineer
Location: Eden Prairie, MN or Remote
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Range: $120,000 – $170,000 / Salary (based on experience)

EVS is looking for a Senior Protection & Controls Engineer to drive innovation in grid reliability and clean energy. This is a prime opportunity to lead technical design work, collaborate with industry-leading engineers, and mentor the next generation—all while contributing to a more sustainable future.
What You’ll Do
Lead protection and control (P&C) design for utility substation projects
Perform relay settings, short circuit, and arc flash studies
Develop one-line diagrams, P&C schematics, and wiring diagrams
Act as a subject matter expert on relay philosophy, RTU configuration, and NERC compliance
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure technical excellence
Mentor junior engineers and help shape project standards
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
5–6+ years of experience in substation or transmission design
Professional Engineer (PE) license—or ability to obtain it
Proficiency with SEL AcSELerator, SKM, ETAP, AutoCAD
A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and passion for clean energy
