This role manages large-scale, complex projects and works closely with cross-functional teams both within Next League, our client partners and external vendors.      

Please note we are looking for someone within 2 hours of NYC via public transportation. We will not be considering candidates that are not within the tristate area.     

                      

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex digital projects — including websites, mobile applications, and integrated platforms — ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and quality from kickoff through release, live operations, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration, trust, and clear communication across teams.
  • Develop and maintain detailed roadmaps, project plans/schedules, and work breakdown structures that clearly define milestones, dependencies, ownership, and critical paths.
  • Drive disciplined delivery practices for scope and schedule management; periodically mentor peers in improving planning and execution methods. 
  • Oversee and communicate project changes across cost, scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring proper governance and approvals.
  • Partner with technical and design leads to define solutions, delivery estimates and approaches.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies; ensure compliance with delivery and standards. 
  • Lead incident response and escalation management, coordinating release schedules and deployment activities as needed.
  • Evaluate delivery performance and recommend improvements to projects, policies, procedures, approaches, processes, and documents to increase effectiveness.
  • Lead effective project meetings and working sessions; document outcomes and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Manage relationships and dependencies with third-party vendors; resolve conflicts and ensure accountability for deliverables.
  • Ensure task clarity and completeness, enabling developers, QA, and other team members to execute efficiently.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog; plan and drive sprint and release cycles in partnership with product and engineering leads.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives) to promote alignment and continuous improvement.

Qualification Requirements  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 4+ years managing end-to-end delivery of complex digital platforms (websites, mobile apps, and/or digital experiences) through full SDLC.
  • Proven success managing multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of PMO governance, Agile (Scrum & Kanban), and hybrid delivery frameworks. 
  • PMP or CSM certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with resource management is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of modern SDLC practices, including CI/CD models and deployment workflows.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to interface confidently with clients and executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to constantly changing business environment, work independently, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, consumer-facing digital products (web and mobile).
  • Experience in sports or sports-media digital projects is a plus. 
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, on-time results.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, partnering effectively with design, engineering, QA, and product teams.

Location/Work Hours

This role is 100% remote.  

Travel Requirements

This position is expected to travel 10% of the time.
