Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Project Manager with deep expertise in rail and transit infrastructure, specifically related to MTA Construction & Development (C&D) projects. This is an opportunity to lead the design and delivery of transformative public transportation projects across the New York City region — from stations to track infrastructure — and shape the future of urban mobility.
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of progressive experience in delivering complex transit projects and holds either a Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Architect (AIA) credential. You will serve as a trusted client liaison, team leader, and project delivery expert for high-profile initiatives within the MTA’s capital program.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the design and delivery of transit infrastructure or station projects in compliance with MTA C&D standards.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with clients (including MTA, LIRR, Metro-North, NYCT) and manage stakeholder engagement throughout all project phases.

  • Oversee all aspects of project execution: scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, risk management, and team performance.

  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to internal teams and subconsultants.

  • Manage and mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

  • Support proposal development, including scoping, resource planning, and fee estimation, especially for pursuits related to MTA C&D.

  • Coordinate with contractors and agency partners for design-build and alternative delivery projects.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (PE-NY) or Registered Architect (AIA-NY) required.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years managing MTA C&D transit station or infrastructure design projects.

  • Proven track record managing large, multidisciplinary transportation projects in active rail environments.

  • Deep knowledge of MTA design standards, stakeholder expectations, and capital program delivery methods.

  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and client management skills.

  • Familiarity with design-build, CM/GC, or other alternative delivery models is a strong plus.

What We Offer:

  • A dynamic, mission-driven culture focused on improving transportation for millions.

  • High-impact projects that shape the future of New York’s transit system.

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.

  • Flexible work arrangements and a supportive, inclusive environment.
