Job Description SummaryThe GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) - Senior Project Manager for the BWROG plays a central role in supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the global BWR fleet. This position leads the day-to-day execution of multiple technical projects across BWROG committees, including scope development, proposal and budget estimation, risk and schedule management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of high-value industry products.
This is a highly collaborative, customer-facing role requiring daily interaction with BWROG utility members, technical committees, internal GVH organizations, and external partners. The PM will routinely facilitate meetings (virtual, hybrid, and in-person), coordinate technical resources, navigate complex multi-utility priorities, and travel to BWR sites to support project goals.
The BWROG is a global membership organization representing all domestic (U.S.) and most international BWR operators. Its mission is to maintain and improve plant safety, drive higher fleet reliability, reduce and share costs, strengthen regulatory engagement, and enable industry alignment on high-impact issues.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary technical teams including utility SMEs, GVH engineering, vendors, and national labs to deliver high-quality technical products and solutions.
  • Engage daily with BWROG members to understand fleet needs, identify emerging issues, and shape project scope aligned with industry priorities.
  • Develop and manage detailed budgets and schedules with strong discipline in estimating, tracking, and early risk identification.
  • Facilitate committee and working-group meetings (virtual and in-person), ensuring clear objectives, productive discussion, decision capture, and follow-through.
  • Represent GVH at BWROG meetings, regulatory interactions, and industry forums.
  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles to strengthen internal processes, documentation quality, governance, and stakeholder communication.
  • Drive consistency and repeatability across projects using lessons learned, best practices, and collaborative problem-solving across committees.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the nuclear energy industry, including at least 5 years at a commercial nuclear power plant in operations, engineering, maintenance, licensing, or similar roles.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical program or project management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams with accountability for budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and customer-relationship skills with the ability to engage both technical SMEs and utility executives.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% (primarily domestic, but international travel is possible).
  • If not already PMP certified, willingness and ability to obtain certification within 18 months.

Desired Characteristics

  • Deep technical understanding of BWR systems, operations, programs, maintenance, and licensing, typically demonstrated through 10 or more years at an operating BWR.
  • PMP or PgMP certification.
  • Experience participating in nuclear industry working groups such as BWROG, PWROG, NEI, INPO, EPRI, or other industry groups.
  • Familiarity with GVH nuclear products, engineering processes, and customer landscape.
  • Experience in nuclear regulatory affairs with interaction with the NRC or international regulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to run effective, efficient meetings and build alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with discipline in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Clear, professional communication style suited for technical audiences and executive-level stakeholders.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $114,100.00 and $190,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
