About Tint

Tint enables SaaS platforms and marketplaces to unlock growth and improve profitability through embedded insurance. We offer plug-and-play and white-labeled integrations, equipping brands we partner with a sophisticated mix of technology infrastructure, services, and deep industry expertise. Embedded insurance can transform insurance from a product bought separately to a feature of brands consumers love and we are on a mission to make that happen.

Happy Tint customers include Turo, Deel, uShip, Guesty, Neighbor, BabyQuip, and CitizenShipper, among others.

We've raised $30M and are backed by world-class investors such as Y Combinator, QED, Deciens, Nyca, Plug and Play, WIN, Soma Capital, and Pioneer Fund.

About the role

We’re looking for a senior Product UX Designer to join us on a 6‑month contract, with the potential to transition to full-time. You’ll work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to simplify complex insurance workflows into intuitive, elegant experiences. From discovery to launch, you’ll own the end-to-end design process and play a key role in delivering scalable, customer-centric solutions.  Tools we use include Figma, FigJam, Slack, Linear.

What you will do
  • Lead UX design across product features, from user research and wireframes to prototypes and developer-ready designs  using the leading design tools
  • Collaborate closely with Product, engineering and stakeholders to shape meaningful product experiences
  • Deliver high-quality design outputs in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Explore opportunities to integrate AI-driven features into user experiences
  • Create user flows, journey maps, and interaction patterns that clarify and enhance the customer experience
  • Advocate for user needs and accessibility while balancing business goals and technical constraints through usability testing and knowledge of design best practices
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system in partnership with engineering
  • Facilitate design critiques and feedback sessions to improve design quality and team alignment
  • Help shape product strategy through user insights and design thinking
You should apply if you have...
  • Are open to a 6‑month contract with the possibility of full-time conversion
  • Have 4+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in SaaS, FinTech, or complex B2B/B2B2C systems
  • Bring strong UX thinking, visual design craft, and full ownership of design work
  • Are comfortable working with or around AI-driven tools and experiences, and open to exploring how AI can enhance UX
  • Have experience with Figma and AI-powered design tools like Lovable and Figma Make
  • Have worked closely with cross-functional teams in fast-paced or startup environments
  • Think in systems and aim for simplicity and usability
  • Communicate clearly and advocate for users and design decisions

Bonus Points If You…

  • Have experience designing for insurance, compliance, or highly regulated industries
  • Have experience designing for or alongside AI-powered features or systems
  • Enjoy running user interviews, usability tests, or other forms of generative/validating research
  • Have worked on products that support multiple user personas or customer types
  • Are comfortable translating technical complexity into intuitive user experiences
  • Have contributed to a company’s design process or helped grow a design culture from the ground up
What We Value Most in a Candidate
  • Culture is Key. Our team is remote first. We are a diverse, global team that works well together, even when we aren't in person. We are looking for self-motivated candidates who can stay motivated and focused. But don't worry, we're still social! We work collaboratively even though we are remote and travel to team and company retreats throughout the year.
  • Focused on Results. We are a fast-moving small team with big goals. We need team players that feel a sense of urgency to drive meaningful results for the business. We have clear company goals and a pathway to significant growth - and this role is integral to that journey.
  • Customer-first. Put yourself in the shoes of someone trying to buy our solution. We need a person who can empathize with our customers and help create strategies to continually improve the customer experience.
  • Adaptability. We're still an early-stage start-up, and things change quickly. If you are energized by learning and discovering on-the-go, this will be an excellent fit for you. We are looking for open-minded candidates that adapt well to changing environments as our company grows and scales.
Why Contract to Hire?

We know that choosing your next role is a big decision—and sometimes the best way to know if it’s a fit is to try it out. That’s why we’re kicking things off with a 6-month contract. You’ll have the opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact projects from day one, get to know the team, and see how we collaborate and build. If it feels right on both sides, there’s a clear path to join full-time.

At Tint, we’re ambitious about changing the insurance industry, but we’re just as committed to fostering a culture of openness, merit, and inclusion. We believe great work happens when people bring their full selves to the table—and we’re excited to see what you bring.

Location

This role is a fully remote contract for a contractor located in the US and does not offer visa sponsorship.

Pay transparency

This is a 6-month contract role to start, with the strong possibility of converting to full-time if it’s a great mutual fit. We’re offering $100–140/hour, depending on your experience and where you're based. If we both decide to make things official after the contract, we’ll revisit comp and talk about full-time salary, equity, and benefits then. We aim to be fair, transparent, and competitive with market rates—and we’re always open to a conversation.
