The Senior Product Strategist plays a critical role in defining and driving the execution of Coupa’s product strategy, operating at the intersection of product, market, and commercial strategy. This role ensures that long-term strategic priorities translate into clear product investments and coordinated execution across the organization.
Working closely with Product Management, Product Operations, Product Marketing, Corporate Development, and Go-to-Market organizations, the Product Strategy Manager ensures alignment between market opportunities, customer needs, product roadmap priorities, and commercial models, including pricing and packaging.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking with operational rigor and cross-functional leadership to translate strategy into execution. This role requires experience in SaaS product environments and benefits from familiarity with procurement, sourcing, or spend management domains.
What You’ll Do
- Strategy Formulation
- Develop and evolve the long-term product strategy aligned with company growth priorities and market opportunities.
- Identify strategic opportunities through structured market analysis, competitive intelligence, customer insights, and technology trends.
- Support the definition of strategic product priorities and investment areas across the platform and solution portfolio.
- Translate complex market signals into clear strategic recommendations for product leadership.
- Strategy-to-Execution Orchestration
- Drive the translation of product strategy into actionable initiatives, product roadmap priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- Develop strategic narratives, frameworks, and materials to support executive decision making.
- Prepare leadership presentations and strategic analyses for senior product and company leadership.
- Communicate complex strategic topics clearly across technical, product, and business audiences.
- Coordinate closely with Product Management, Product Operations, Product Marketing, and GTM teams to ensure strategic initiatives are executed consistently across the organization.
- Ensure alignment between product strategy, roadmap planning, and company-level strategic priorities.
- Support strategic planning cycles, product portfolio reviews, and cross-functional alignment processes.
- Commercial Strategy (Pricing & Packaging)
- Connect product strategy to pricing and packaging frameworks to ensure alignment with customer value and market positioning.
- Ensure product offerings and commercial models reflect evolving customer needs and market trends
- Market & Customer Insights
- Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and emerging technologies across the enterprise SaaS landscape and analysts.
- Synthesize customer insights and market data to inform strategic product decisions.
- Develop structured analyses that guide prioritization of product capabilities and strategic initiatives.
What You Will Bring to Coupa
- 6–10+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, consulting, or corporate strategy, ideally within SaaS or enterprise software
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from strategy development through execution
- Strong collaboration skills across product, marketing, and go-to-market teams
- Advanced analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills
- Experience with (or familiarity in) procurement, sourcing, or spend management domains preferred
The estimated pay range for this role is $104,000 - $135,000
The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
