Boeing is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to join our Product Security Engineering team onsite in North Charleston, South Carolina. This position is responsible for ensuring security, safety, and resiliency of all 787 airplanes with the development and support of system developments, methods, and tools. The candidate must have a strong understanding of product security engineering and airplane systems.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the 787 Product Security Engineering team, and mentoring teammates. In this position, the candidate will need strong communication, and organizational skills are critical to success in this position. The candidate must have the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Security architect for the 787 security architecture
  • Leads the development and sustainment of the 787 security architecture with an awareness of consequences of judgements individually and through teams.
  • Leads risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments of the product assets and production systems in accordance with accepted industry, professional, and government standards to ensure security design integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leads development and coordination of system security requirements with different system stakeholders.
  • Reviews technical data and documentation in accordance with requirements and system security engineering processes and procedures for internal reference and external delivery.
  • Coordinates and advises security testers to validate coverage and impacts to analysis.
  • Coordinates with external customers and internal stakeholders on detection capabilities in alignment with continued airworthiness strategies.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and communication of the sustainment program to ensure continued product security, safety, and resiliency of the 787. Advises and checks configuration management and security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used to ensure continued product security and resiliency of in-service models.
  • Mentors and leads other engineers on the 787 program
  • Technical advocate for security to other engineering functions
  • Performs peer technical reviews on deliverables, and technical concepts for the 787 program
  • Security Architect for Boeing Commercial Airplanes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 14+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, product security
  • Experience coordinating and presenting technical content to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comprehensive understanding of airplane systems and networks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in cybersecurity, security network architecture, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, network design
  • Comprehensive understanding of DO-326B, DO-356A, DO-355
  • 20+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, product security
  • Technical leadership with a positive and curious mindset
  • Possess one or more security certifications, including but not limited to: CISSP; Security+; CEH; CCNA; UNIX/LINUX System Administration; GIAC GPEN, GWAPT, or GXPN; Offensive Security Certified Engineer (OSCE); Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)

Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 5): $204,000 - $276,000
Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 6): $238,000 - $322,000
