Job Description:

The Job / What You’ll Do

We are seeking an experienced Investment Product Manager to join our Investment Product / Wealth Management Solutions team to help design, launch, and scale innovative wealth management services and solutions for financial advisors and their clients. In this role, the Senior Manager will partner across the organization to define product vision, drive innovation, and execute priorities for AssetMark’s Wealth Management Services platform.

This role collaborates closely with investment, distribution, operations, technology, legal/compliance, and marketing teams to develop and enhance wealth management capabilities, including tax-aware and personalized investment solutions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong collaborator who can influence without authority, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and lead initiatives from concept through launch.

Preferred office location for this position is Concord, CA, though we will also consider candidates based in Chicago, IL; Encino, CA; or Phoenix, AZ. This is a hybrid role, with three days in-office and two days remote per week.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to shape the strategy and evolution of AssetMark’s wealth management programs and services
  • Lead the development and launch of new wealth management products, services, and platform capabilities
    • Own the full product lifecycle with a strong focus on advisor and client experience
    • Define business requirements, success metrics, and implementation plans
    • Drive cross-functional execution across Sales, Operations, Marketing, Technology, Legal & Compliance, and Investment teams
  • Influence and align stakeholders across teams to drive execution in a matrixed environment
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AssetMark’s wealth management solutions, investment products, and industry best practices
  • Develop product positioning, go-to-market strategies, advisor communications, and education materials
  • Create executive-level presentations and product materials to support leadership updates, advisor engagement, and strategic initiatives
  • Provide ongoing oversight, reporting, issue resolution, and enhancement recommendations for assigned programs and services
  • Monitor industry, advisor platform, and competitive trends to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
  • Support sales enablement, product education, and advisor adoption efforts

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, securities trading, financial planning, and wealth management best practices
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive outcomes without direct authority
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and presentation development skills, with the ability to create polished, executive-ready materials and deliver compelling presentations
  • Strategic, analytical, and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and adapt to changing business needs
  • Familiarity with wealth management segments, advisor personas, and industry trends
  • Experience with tax overlay services, tax-loss harvesting, and direct indexing solutions preferred

Education & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, product development, or platform strategy within Financial Services or FinTech
  • Strong knowledge of the advisory industry, investment products, and wealth management services
  • Experience with tax-managed investment solutions or advisor platform technologies preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $150,000-$175,000.  

 

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits. 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
