Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and impact-driven Senior Product Manager, Hardware to lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of our hardware products. Reporting to the Director, Product Management, this role is responsible for translating customer and business needs into a clear product vision and executable plans, while partnering closely with Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing and Support.

This role is well-suited to someone with experience managing complex hardware products – often tightly coupled with software – and is comfortable navigating ambiguity, long development cycles, regulatory constraints, and operational trade-offs. You will act as a strong advocate for customer needs, balancing technical feasibility, cost, scalability, and time to market in partnership with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with engineering and design to build hardware products that make a real difference in people’s lives by helping to uncover the truth and protecting the innocent;
  • Collaborate on a highly visible product line with key business stakeholders including Executive Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Engineering to shape the vision for the product;
  • Meet with Law Enforcement, Public Sector and Private Sector Leaders and customers in the Digital Forensics and Investigations domains to inform prioritization and product decisions;
  • Support go-to-market activities including positioning, pricing, launch readiness, and sales enablement;
  • Become the subject-matter expert in your product domain

Role Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and commercialization grounded in an extensive knowledge of our customers’ needs and competitors;
  • Fully understand market problems and use cases by gathering feedback from product stakeholders (i.e. Customers, Users, Internal Stakeholders) and observing market dynamics – always seeking to fully comprehend the core underlying pain or challenge;
  • Define clear customer and business outcomes, and be able to translate those into hardware deliverables and requirements, and drive them to delivery with cross-functional teams;
  • Contribute to long time portfolio and platform strategy where hardware is a differentiator;
  • Travel: 20%.
  •

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management role with significant ownership of hardware or hardware-centric products;
  • Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles, including prototyping, validation, certification, and production;
  • Demonstrated customer empathy – recognizing and caring genuinely about the motivations, challenges and frustrations of our customers and advocating for solutions to resolve them;
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills - comfortable with presenting to customers, executive level stakeholders and other internal audiences;
  • Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence at all levels and create trust and strong relationships;
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in a Technology Related Program, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience working on software products, particularly those tightly integrated with hardware
  • Prior experience in the Digital Forensics industry, Cybersecurity, or Law Enforcement.
  •

Indicators of Success

We’re looking for someone who checks off most, but not all, of the boxes listed in “skills and experiences”.  It’s more important to us to find candidates who can display indicators of success through skills they have developed and experiences they have been a part of, than to find folks who have ‘been there, done that”.  We want to be part of your development journey, and we’ll learn as much from you as you learn from us.

How We Work

At Magnet Forensics, we take a hybrid-flexible approach to support your productivity and work-life balance. If you’re within a comfortable travel distance to one of our offices, you’ll occasionally join us in person. How often you’ll come in depends on your department and team needs, typically ranging from weekly to monthly. These in-person moments help us build stronger connections, spark new ideas, and celebrate our successes together. Most days, you can choose what works best for you, while staying in tune with your team’s goals.

We’re excited to welcome you to our team and look forward to achieving great things together - both in the office and wherever you work best!

The Most Important Thing

We’re looking for candidates that can provide examples of how they have demonstrated Magnet CODE in their previous experiences:

CARE – We care about each other and our mission to make a difference in the world.
OWN – We are accountable for our results – while never forgetting to act with integrity, empathy, and respect.
DEDICATE – We put our heart and soul into meeting the needs of our customers and helping them serve the people they protect.
EVOLVE – We are constantly innovating and exploring new ways to work together to make an impact with our work.

Here at Magnet Forensics, we are committed to continuous learning and are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. This commitment will be reflected in our hiring processes and embedded in our values and how we treat one another. If you’re interested in this role, but do not meet all of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply anyways.
