The Job At-A-Glance:
Q2 is seeking a Senior Product Manager who will be responsible for the strategic planning and roadmap creation and execution for an industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company with a powerful mission to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. This position requires an individual who has significant experience in commercial digital banking, specifically in commercial payments, such as ACH, Wire, RTP, and FedNow. You will act as a commercial banking expert to your customers, both internally and externally, in Q2. You will also become an expert on our customers’ needs and manage a set of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment. It requires a highly motivated and focused individual capable of communicating and establishing credibility within the organization and with our customer community.
You are the right fit for this position if you are passionate about commercial banking and specifically payments. You have a point of view about what makes great commercial digital banking products and can translate that into requirements that deliver solutions to market problems that you identify. Your work will directly impact the end-user experience, making it more intuitive and efficient.
In addition, you take a client-centric approach to product management and have demonstrated results, driving rapid modifications and initial concepts to new and existing products. Although you will work in the product group, you will continually work with, build, and influence cross-departmental workgroups, particularly with product, sales, marketing, delivery, and support teams, using your outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
A Typical Day:
Assist in driving roadmap and product strategy
Proactively identify opportunities for new trends/features/products
Perform research and provide industry expertise to be utilized in product business cases and development
Engage with product development teams to ensure new feature development meets market expectation
Establish and track business cases for new and existing products
Assess risk of value, feasibility, and usability as key factors to product success
Communicate value and vision effectively, being confident with presentation skills and establishing credibility with an audience
Engage with clients and prospects through Relationship and Sales teams as needed to present and discuss roadmap and strategy
Build effective relationships with others in Product, Sales, Marketing, Delivery and Support
Champion end-user experience by actively seeking to integrate human interaction best practices and best in class front end design into each commercial feature built
Work with Product Owners to ensure all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
Work with Product Owners to deliver product acceptance criteria for the development organization you work with to ensure the highest quality and customer experience
Work with the Release Management team to develop and deliver release documentation and training materials for internal groups on key functional aspects of products under your ownership
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree
with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
Demonstrable previous experience in software product management
Minimum 8 years in commercial banking, commercial digital solutions is preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong teamwork, organization, and problem resolution skills
Excel and data analysis skills
Self-starter with proven ability to deliver results with minimal assistance is a must
This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
