About the Role

Ontra is seeking a Senior Product Manager reporting to our Group Product Manager.

To foster team connection and collaboration, this role requires being present in either our Santa Barbara or San Francisco office up to once per quarter for team meetings and off-sites. As such, we are only considering candidates who are currently based in California.

We’re looking for someone excited to lead one of our R&D teams as we build the future of our flagship Contract Automation product, with a particular focus on transforming the experience for our sell-side users and sell-side legal network. We’re looking for a leader who is thrilled by this challenge—someone who can build a strong, empowered team through change, develop cutting-edge AI and automation solutions, and drive a product strategy that creates indispensable value for our users.

If you are a creative and strategic thinker who can connect product initiatives to clear business outcomes and inspire a team to build the future of legal tech, we’d love to get to know you!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead an Empowered Team: Build and lead a resilient, cross-functional product team of engineering, UX, QE, and data professionals alongside your product trio partners (Eng Manager and UX). You will be tasked with inspiring confidence and curating a psychologically safe environment for your team to navigate change and innovate creatively.
  • Drive Product Strategy & Vision: Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering leaders to create, promote, and execute a product strategy that achieves our ambitious annual OKRs. You will ensure that your team's priorities have clearly defined goals that align with business outcomes understood across the organization.
  • Develop Cutting-Edge Solutions: Lead the charge in integrating AI and automation into the core Contract Automation workflow, focusing on solutions to dramatically improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of contract processing.
  • Customer Discovery and Validation: Conduct and drive customer interviews and validation sessions to gather insights that shape product direction.
  • Execute with Excellence: Translate business objectives into an actionable product roadmap, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution to deliver measurable impact. You'll define, track, and share the outcomes of your team's work to demonstrate progress against our goals.
  • Collaborate to Win: Work closely with Go-To-Market (Sales, Marketing, CS) and Platform teams to ensure seamless product launches, drive adoption, and equip our internal teams with the knowledge they need to succeed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years in Product Management, leading cross-functional teams in high-growth B2B SaaS environments. Background in legal tech, contract lifecycle management (CLM), or private markets is a strong plus.
  • Execution & Delivery: A proven track record of leading products from concept to launch, with full ownership of the product direction and a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: You are a strategic thinker who connects product initiatives to business goals and uses data, market insights, and user feedback to make informed decisions.
  • Prioritization: Skilled in creating and executing product priorities that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Customer-Centricity: A deep passion for conducting customer discovery, understanding user problems, and translating those insights into impactful product requirements.
  • AI Familiarity: Passion for using AI to drive efficiency, both in your workflow and through AI/ML-powered product development. Experience developing AI-driven products is a strong plus.
  • Customer Discovery: Strong ability to conduct customer discovery and effectively translate insights into actionable product requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams to define scope, prioritize tasks, and deliver results.
  • Agile Methodology: Comfortable working in agile or iterative development environments.
