We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the charge on Consumer Insights and work hand-in-hand with our Data Platform, marketing and revenue teams. You’ll be utilizing our data platform to develop world-class data products and insights that lead to direct business value.  

Why it Matters: The Senior PM reports to our Director of Product for Data and will champion a data-informed culture and derive meaningful and actionable insights from our users’ data.  This person will partner across the organization to determine how to implement strategies as the result of customer behavior, traits, preferences, and motivations.

Zoom in: In this role, you will use your agile skills to develop and manage roadmaps, prepare for and run applicable team ceremonies, and maintain well planned and delivered sprints. You will also:

  • Collaborate with your team as well as partners and stakeholders across the Product, Engineering, and Design department as well as Growth, Editorial, Revenue and Operations to deliver on data objectives and inform actionable product enhancements
  • Support incoming data requests with urgency, creative problem solving, and focus
  • Be an excellent partner and communicator for your team and stakeholders

  • Expert in delivering on the strategy of Consumer Insights and Analytics in a customer-centric environment.
  • Strength in collaborating across technical and business teams to effectively leverage existing data sources, augment where needed, and improve the value of our data
  • Strong past experience leading teams in an agile environment
  • Hands-on experience with market analyses to ensure best-in-class consumer insights data strategy 
  • Past experience educating, evangelizing, and guiding on data-related initiatives
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to turn complex data development efforts into easy to understand business narratives 
  • Experience enabling consumer-centric metrics to determine success and inform growth opportunities (e.g. customer LTV, marketing funnel effectiveness, return on media spend, A/B testing, audience segmentation, etc.)
  • Experience evaluating and leveraging third party tools as well as customer data to develop audience profiles, cohorts, and integrate with marketing and sales tech
  • Preferred experience in media and/or with SaaS products
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyze large datasets to identify patterns/trends and apply statistical techniques
  • Experience with using business intelligence tools (Looker preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to present findings to all levels of the organization
  • Preferred experience with DS initiatives, testing, and rollout
  • Applied experience and proficiency with SQL 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong track record of collaborating effectively with colleagues across multiple agile teams

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $140,000 - $190,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
