As a Senior Product Manager for Search Relevance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Atlassian's vision for search quality and relevance. Your focus will be on delivering superior search experiences that underpin Atlassian's AI-driven products and solutions. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Vision and Execution:
  • Define and drive the strategic vision and roadmap for Search relevance and quality, clearly articulating the desired outcomes and the path to achieve them.
  • Execute strategic initiatives to improve search relevance across Atlassian's suite of products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user expectations.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with teams across Atlassian that develop search and AI-driven features to identify opportunities and implement improvements in search relevance and quality.
  • Advocate for relevance and quality standards, influencing stakeholders and championing initiatives that elevate user experience.

Customer-Centric Approach:
  • Develop deep customer insights to pinpoint gaps in search relevance and quality, proactively addressing issues to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Regularly interact with users and internal stakeholders to validate relevance enhancements and prioritize feature improvements.

Communication and Storytelling:
  • Create compelling narratives and communicate progress effectively to customers, stakeholders, and the broader community, highlighting Atlassian's advancements in search relevance and quality.

To succeed in this Senior Product Manager role for Search Relevance, you should bring a robust combination of technical depth, strategic thinking, and hands-on expertise in enterprise search systems. Key qualifications include:
  • 8+ years of product management experience, with substantial recent experience in Enterprise Search focusing on relevance and quality.
  • Proven proficiency in relevance and quality measurement metrics such as nDCG, MRR, and related analytics.
  • Deep user empathy and commitment to delivering exceptional search experiences, with attention to detail that drives continuous improvement.
  • Strong technical subject matter expertise, with a comprehensive understanding of search technologies, natural language processing, and machine learning principles.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills, including the ability to independently analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and demonstrate the customer impact of improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive cross-functional initiatives without direct authority, maintaining alignment across diverse teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
