Who are we and why should you join us?

BetterHelp is on a mission to remove the traditional barriers to therapy and make mental health care more accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013, we are now the world’s largest online therapy service – providing affordable and convenient therapy across the globe. Our network of over 30,000 licensed therapists has helped millions of people take ownership of their mental health and change their lives forever. And we’re not stopping there – as the unmet need for mental health services continues to grow, BetterHelp is committed to being part of the solution.

As a Senior Product Manager - International at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. And as a mental health company, we take employee mental health just as seriously as we do our mission. We seriously invest in our team’s well-being and professional development, because we know that business and individual growth go hand-in-hand.

At BetterHelp, you’ll carve your own path, make an immediate impact, and be challenged every day – with a supportive community behind you the whole way.

What are we looking for?

BetterHelp is looking for an individual contributor who excels at execution and is passionate about building and growing successful consumer (B2C) products. As a two-sided marketplace, this role may focus on either the client or therapist side.
This individual will take end-to-end ownership of some of our highest-impact projects, which may include bringing new products and features to market, optimizing existing products to sustain and accelerate growth, and launching in new markets.
It’s an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work on meaningful, high-impact initiatives, is action-oriented, and is motivated by seeing tangible results—all while making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

What will you do?
  • Lead highly visible and critical initiatives that materially impact the trajectory of the company. This includes end to end ownership of new products, features and experiments with a focus on growing the consumer side of our marketplace.
  • Initiate, evaluate and prioritize ideas, gather requirements and create specifications for product changes that will achieve maximum impact and benefit.
  • Prioritize and launch our product in new markets, managing translation and localization.
  • Analyze and quantify the impact and success of each and every product change we've made, and then draw conclusions and plan next steps based on actual data.
  • Collaborate with the development and design teams before, during, and after each "sprint" to maximize resources' efficiency, utilization, and happiness.
  • Partner with the design team to create a user experience that is both delightful and effective.
  • Perform UAT and functional QA to make sure we're launching only good stuff!
  • Internally: Work cross-functionally with all parts of the company (development, support, marketing, business development, operations) in order to convert their insights into product improvements.
  • Externally: Connect with all external stakeholders (members, providers, marketing channels, business partners, regulators) both inbound and outbound to make sure our product is meeting their needs and requirements.
  • Participate in setting the strategy and long-term direction for the organization - both within and beyond the context of product.
  • Continually seek ways to improve everything we do and optimize the value we bring to our stakeholders.
  • Own KPI's and be obsessed about them.
  • In a nutshell: [Ideate, execute, test, measure, analyze, learn, iterate]
What will you NOT do?
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a product role at a B2C company and proven success through measurable impact and increasing responsibilities.
  • Growth and experiments driven mindset with a proven ability to execute and deliver results.
  • Deep understanding of unit/business economics and proven ability to balance business and technical considerations for product decisions.
  • Super analytical: proven experience in using data and relevant tools for driving critical business outcomes.
  • Experience in quickly launching products on a regular basis in an agile environment with a track record of delivering products on time and with high quality.
  • Great eye for UX and understanding of its related metrics.
  • You must include the word "moussaka" in your application (this goes to being thorough and attention to detail).
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, strong attention to detail, able to work independently.
Bonus (nice to have):
  • Experience with marketplace-based business models and/or subscription models
  • Experience with International or global product management
  • Experience with data-driven, personalization by segmentation
  • Good understanding of marketplace dynamics
  • Experience in both desktop and mobile environments
Benefits
  • Remote work with regular in-person bonding experiences sponsored by the company
  • Competitive compensation
  • Holistic perks program (including free therapy, employee wellness, and more)
  • Excellent health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution
  • The chance to build something that changes lives – and that people love
  • Any piece of hardware or software that will make you happy and productive
  • An awesome community of co-workers
