We are looking for a creative, impactful Senior Product Designer II to join our talented design team at Drata. In this role, you’ll work closely with product, engineering, and customers to shape intuitive, elegant user experiences across our platform while advancing our mission to build trust across the internet.
You will bring deep design craft, a user-centered mindset, and strong product thinking to your work. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to deliver exceptional, end-to-end experiences while rolling up your sleeves to lead initiatives when needed. This is an ideal role for a high-impact IC who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow within a high-trust, collaborative design team.
We’re also excited about the evolving role of AI in design. The ideal candidate is curious and proactive about how AI can support, enhance, or transform our design processes—from research to ideation to delivery.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior Product Designer II, you will research, conceptualize, and prototype robust user experiences in key areas of our software, helping our users navigate the complexities of security and compliance. You will…
- Research, conceptualize, and prototype user experiences that help customers navigate the complexities of security and compliance
- Lead problem discovery and ideation aligned with Drata’s product strategy and customer outcomes
- Gather and synthesize research through customer conversations, testing platforms, and workshops with internal experts
- Organize complex workflows into intuitive, user-friendly designs and interactions
- Deliver clear artifacts—wireframes, user journeys, prototypes—that guide and align cross-functional teams
- Partner closely with product managers and engineers throughout the design and delivery process
- Define and measure success criteria for your designs, using data and insights to iterate and improve
- Contribute to design operations, from design system and design principle contributions to resources that scale research, information architecture, and tooling
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, including opportunities to experiment with AI tools and approaches to amplify design impact
- Share feedback with peers, contribute to design critiques, and foster a collaborative, feedback-rich design culture
- Roll up your sleeves to lead design initiatives when the team or project needs it—whiteboarding, prototyping, or delivering polished UI with a strong sense of craft and care
- Commit to making what we build accessible and inclusive to all users
What you’ll bring:
- 5 - 10+ years working in Product Design, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, or Content Strategy, preferably at a high-growth SaaS company
- A portfolio demonstrating your expertise in UX/UI principles. Please highlight examples that guide users through complexity
- Experience leading or participating in user research
- Experience working in direct collaboration with product managers
- Experience working in direct collaboration with developers/engineers in an agile environment
- Experience contributing to design systems. Contributions to design operations a huge plus
- Ability to work across multiple projects and maintain a strong attention to detail
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized. Has a desire for pushing the boundaries of enterprise software design with modern, emerging UI patterns and implementation technologies (but also knows when to just get stuff done)
- Must work well with others and be open to feedback from multiple stakeholders; no creative ego
- Must be a self-starter who excels at multitasking and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Figma, but still comfortable with pencil and paper or a whiteboard
- Experience with HTML and CSS, even if it’s just talking about it, is a huge plus
