This is a full time remote role, however candidates must be based in the U.S. Currently Phantom cannot support employees from the following countries and continents: Russia, Pakistan, Ukraine, Asia, Oceania, and Africa.

Responsibilities

• Provide full product life-cycle counseling to teams developing innovative crypto-native payments products.

• Ensure compliance with applicable global regulations and provide strategic advice to stakeholders.

• Draft Terms of Service; draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial and partnership agreements.

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and consider their impact on Phantom

Qualifications

• JD and active member of at least one state bar

• 5+ years of legal experience, with in-house experience at a financial services, fintech or crypto company preferred

• Interest in digital assets, web3 and DeFi and a curiosity around new and innovative financial technologies

• Experience with financial services and consumer protection regulations (State MTLs, Reg E, UDAP, ‘33 Act, ‘34 Act, CEA)

• Excellent judgment and communications skills and the ability to translate legal advice into actionable guidance.

The target base salary for this role will range between $180,000 to $255,000 with the addition of equity and benefits. This is determined by a few factors including your skillset, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews and market factors at the point in time of offer.
