Job Description / What you’ll do:
  • Use Data to Find Product and Marketing Opportunities (40%)
    • Assess complex business problems and/or system performance issues using data to provide insights that empower decision makers in product, marketing, data science, and engineering. 
    • Understand the overall Credit Karma ecosystem and help bridge analytics across product, marketing, and the external environment to identify growth opportunities.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to construct forecasts, make strategic/tactical plans and ultimately make recommendations that generate value for Credit Karma and its members.
    • Perform exploratory analysis to generate hypotheses, drive product or marketing strategy, and identify gaps while sizing opportunities for new features across one or more areas. 
  • Experiment Design and Analysis (40%)
    • Design and analyze test results using advanced frequentist and/or Bayesian statistical methods (A/B, matched market, pre-post) to support new launches, drive improvements to existing features, and inform the product and marketing roadmaps. 
    • Use statistical modeling techniques, such as logistic regression to develop and evaluate product and marketing performance.
    • Develop learning agendas and test plans to support agile, data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across product, marketing, engineering, and data science to turn product ideas into new features.
  • Improve Data Quality and Tools (20%)
    • Partner with engineering and business intelligence to ensure proper tracking instrumentation of new products and tests. 
    • Support ongoing analysis and monitoring of revenue and engagement funnels across the platform.
    • Predict revenue impact from changes in pricing, underwriting, approval models, and user behavior using regression and machine learning techniques.
    • Automate the creation and monitoring of key business metrics using a combination of Airflow and Python, ensuring efficient operation and leveraging deep learning technologies to enhance data visualization and response to complex situations.
    • Provide consultation to stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues, while directly producing datasets and reports for analysis using reporting tools.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 7+ years of analytics experience and BS/MS in Business, Economics, Engineering, Math, or Statistics.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL 
  • 5+ years of experience with A/B testing and/or knowledge of statistical techniques such as experiment design, significance testing, and causal inference
  • 5+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Looker/Tableau for insight synthesis and presentation
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheet skills
  • Proven experience working with LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) for data analysis or automation

What We Would Like To See:

  • Exposure to Python and/or R 
  • Experience with software development a huge plus, especially in building automation and predictive models
  • Background in technology and/or financial services is a plus 
  • Ability to problem-solve and understand key drivers of the business
  • Great communication skills with analysts and non-analysts alike
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment

Pay Transparency Notice: Credit Karma’s mission of championing financial progress for all starts from within. That’s why we implemented role-based compensation, which ensures people who are in the same role receive the same pay with variations for geographic location only. It’s all part of a more comprehensive DEI strategy that helps level the playing field. The base salary for this role is $202,343, plus equity and benefits.
