Hybrid 3x a week- (Birmingham, AL)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
About The Positions Contributions:
Bring fresh storytelling, execution, and editing ideas to the video strategy while maintaining a proactive, can-do approach to getting videos out into the world quickly and effectively. This role fluidly moves between pre-production, production, and post-production while managing multiple productions and competing deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, trend-driven environment.
Lead projects from concept through final delivery by creating treatments, scripts, production plans, and edits that transform strong creative ideas into compelling, audience-focused content. Oversee all stages of production, scheduling, casting, procuring props, directing shoots, managing talent, and supervising post-production workflows through upload and distribution.
Manage a dual-track editing workflow that balances rapid-response social and trending content with long-lead narrative storytelling. Work autonomously with minimal direction, taking projects from concept to delivery while consistently interpreting briefs and executing high-quality cuts that hit the mark the first time.
Bring editorial value beyond the provided footage through pacing, music selection, visual hooks, and creative storytelling techniques that make food and lifestyle content feel accessible, emotional, and exciting. Shape edits around authentic moments, texture, and emotion, allowing the subject matter to carry the narrative rather than relying solely on polish or visual gloss.
Articulate and apply best practices that drive video views, audience retention, and engagement across social platforms. Maintain a deep understanding of emerging video trends, platform behaviors, and audience expectations, using insights to continuously innovate and improve creative quality and performance.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders from the earliest conceptual stages to ensure the strongest creative and production approaches are employed. Communicate clearly and effectively around story structure, production strategy, and post-production execution while fostering a collaborative creative process.
Review cuts and provide detailed editorial feedback, ensuring every frame is optimized to keep viewers engaged. Anticipate and solve both large and small production challenges before they arise, maintaining ownership over both the creative vision and the critical details.
