Our Privacy team is entrusted with implementing and maintaining a world-class privacy program. This includes helping to deliver a respected and trusted experience to the Airbnb community as well as ensure compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Airbnb is a vision and mission driven company. The Senior Privacy Manager plays a key role in advancing our privacy and compliance culture. This right candidate is passionate about responsible data use and driving organizational awareness of privacy best practices and benefits. Key responsibilities in this role include executing Airbnb’s privacy corporate engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with legal requirements (i.e., DSA, AI Act, GDPR and emerging AI laws) and technological advances such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. The Senior Privacy Manager collaborates across teams to develop and deliver privacy and AI related curriculum, empowering employees with knowledge they need to maintain compliance and build privacy minded products. This role leads Airbnb’s Privacy Champions program, fostering engagement and advocacy throughout the organization. Through strategic communication, education and stakeholder collaboration, this role promotes a strong culture of privacy, ensuring awareness and adherence to Airbnb values, policies, regulations and industry best practices.

A Typical Day: 

As a key member of the Privacy team, you will partner with other privacy professionals across the company to:

  • Develop and execute corporate engagement, training and communication strategies to promote privacy awareness and compliance across Airbnb.
  • Work with key partners, such as legal, to stay informed of evolving privacy laws and AI regulations (i.e., DSA, GDPR, EU AI Act) and partner with Privacy experts to translate them into language that target audiences can relate to, and connect them to the target audience’s job and functions. 
  • Partner across Airbnb cross functional teams to design and deliver privacy and AI related curriculum, ensuring employees are well equipped to navigate challenges. 
  • Foster a culture of privacy and data protection by driving awareness initiatives, creating educational materials and developing training programs. 
  • Create and lead a program and community of Privacy Champions, utilizing a network of subject matter experts to discuss with and educate them on privacy concepts and risks, and help them become privacy evangelists that foster a privacy by design approach in their jobs, and work to align on mitigation strategies to ensure compliance. 
  • Manage Privacy Program training and materials, and regularly refresh content based on regulatory requirements or organizational needs.

Your Expertise:

  • 3-5 years of experience in privacy, compliance, corporate training, communications or stakeholder engagement, preferably in a global B2C tech company. 
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging training materials and drive awareness initiatives.
  • Ability to translate complex privacy regulations and AI policies into accessible concepts for diverse stakeholders. 
  • Experience developing and executing corporate training programs or engagement strategies that align with legal and business requirements.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain a company-wide program by developing relationships and training new internal privacy evangelists, fostering a culture of compliance and data protection. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive alignment across teams. 

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
