JOB SUMMARY
With the advancement of Power Platform and AI functionalities, including Copilot Studio, and as Microsoft’s AI product development increasingly depends on Power Platform governance, Marriott is establishing a robust and comprehensive governance framework.
This role will lead and accelerate the definition, implementation, and ongoing operation of governance across the Power Platform, ensuring secure, scalable, compliant, and cost effective use of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, and Copilot Studio. The Senior Power Platform Engineer will serve as a technical SME, partnering with Cybersecurity, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, and Business stakeholders to design the governance framework, manage environments, enforce DLP, guide CoE operations, and support AI-first, enterprise-ready patterns.
Required Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification
- 6+years’ of information technology experience including:
- 4+ years of experience administering Microsoft Power Platform solutions in an enterprise environment
- Deep knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, and Copilot Studio.
- Proficiency with the Power Platform Admin Center, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 security/compliance tools.
- Experience implementing DLP policies, managing environments, and supporting CoE operations.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management, and ITIL practices and conditional access.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to interact with Information Security teams and recommend best practices for security within all Power Platform Products.
- Strong understanding of emerging tools, software, applications, and systems within the Power Platform Products ecosystem
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-400, PL-600, PL-900).
- Experience with DevOps, GitHub, or Azure Pipelines for ALM.
- Familiarity with licensing models and cost optimization strategies and capacity planning.
Core Work Activities
- Acts as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for Power Platform
- Designs, develops, and delivers Apps/Flows/Reports that support the governance of the Power Platform
- Contributes technical knowledge in the identification and reporting on emerging cyber threats and risks to the Power Platform
- Provides input to the overall architecture, operational governance model of Power Platform
- Consults with project teams to identify when it is necessary to modify services to accommodate project needs related to Power Platform
- Actively partners with cyber and compliance leadership to ensure that the Power Platform Products are compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Develops and executes delivery plans in close coordination with technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve desired timelines and roadmaps for Power Platform
- Provides engineering, oversight, governance, and tactical direction related to the Power Platform
- Provides input to the overall architecture, operational governance model for the Power Platform and it’s related services
- Educates internal and external users on Power Platform technologies to continually improve the knowledge and skill-base of the organization
- Participates in the evaluation and selection of Power Platform products and services
- Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for assigned projects within the Power Platform Products space
- Participate in security incident response activities, as needed for Power Platform
- Platform Governance & Strategy
- Develop and enforce governance policies, DLP strategies, and environment management standards.
- Maintain and evolve the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE), including roles, responsibilities, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform usage with business goals and compliance requirements.
- Environment & Tenant Management
- Administer environments via the Power Platform Admin Center, including provisioning, lifecycle management, and recovery.
- Implement and monitor tenant-level settings, cross-tenant and on-premises data gateways.
- Manage connection references, service principals, and managed identities for secure automation and integrations
- Security & Compliance
- Apply and audit security controls, including role-based access, authentication policies, and IP cookie binding.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external data protection regulations.
- Monitor connector usage and enforce approved connector lists; manage exceptions and risk assessments for custom connectors
- Monitoring & Support
- Monitor service health dashboards, usage analytics, and flow performance.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide Tier 2/3 support for makers and users.
- Manage alerts and escalations for flow failures and environment anomalies.
- Training & Enablement
- Lead office hours and support citizen developers and business units through training, documentation, and community engagement.
- Promote best practices in solution design, naming conventions, and lifecycle management.
- Integration & Automation
- Oversee integration with Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party services.
- Manage connectors, custom APIs, and ALM pipelines for scalable deployment.
Managing Projects and Priorities
- Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new project plans.
- Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
- Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the quality of operations.
- Balance backlog prioritization based on risk, impact, and feasibility; continuously evaluate and improve operational quality

- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of function-specific procedures.
- Applies knowledge/judgment to achieve business goals.

- Stay current with platform updates and AI advancements; apply new knowledge to strengthen governance and delivery.
