We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, scale, and optimize our Platform Engineering function. In this role, you’ll take ownership of platform components, lead technical initiatives, and partner with developers to improve software delivery, automation, and reliability. You’ll also play a key role in driving best practices across CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and other elements of our Platform Engineering function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and maintain core platform services and self-service tools.
- Lead technical initiatives to improve automation, observability, and scalability.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code to produce scalable, consistent infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with development teams to improve developer experience and accelerate delivery.
- Contribute to the platform roadmap and provide input into strategy and priorities.
- Work to develop and maintain Service Catalogs / Portals to promote the discovery and self-service for available tooling and service.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 7–10 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Strong expertise with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and container orchestration.
- Deep experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar).
- Strong experience with Observability/Telemetry platforms to provide insight into both Infrastructure and Workloads.
- Strong Scripting Experience (Python Preferred).
- Expertise with tools such as SonarQube, LaunchDarkly, and Backstage.
- Expert understanding of observability, automation, and reliability practices.
- Experience improving developer productivity and delivery pipelines.
- Experience with Microservice Development and Support.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
