**PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday) with 2 days remote. The candidate must be in or near Charlotte, NC or have plans to relocate. This position includes participation in an on-call rotation to support critical network infrastructure. Additionally, this role does not offer visa sponsorship at this time.

THE POSITION

As a Senior Platform Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you will own complex systems and problem spaces end-to-end, solving ambiguous problems where the "right" answer isn't always known. You will architect subsystems while anticipating scale and failure modes, drive technical alignment across teams, and mentor junior engineers. This role requires someone who can break down complex projects into executable tasks, make technical tradeoffs between short-term and long-term business needs, and champion new techniques across the organization.

You will be responsible for designing and maintaining our hybrid cloud infrastructure spanning Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments. You'll identify technical debt and refactor core infrastructure to improve velocity, solve the "hard" problems that stump others, and uphold quality standards across the team. This is a senior individual contributor role, where you'll act as a technical leader for infrastructure initiatives while actively growing the careers of junior engineers.

  • Design key metrics, monitoring, and alerting for infrastructure components

  • Implement observability solutions using SumoLogic, Datadog, or similar platforms

  • Manage high-pressure incident response for services and infrastructure you own

  • Lead team in coordinating deployments with proper communication and change management

  • Solve the "hard" problems that stump others; drive root cause analysis for complex issues

  • Ensure work follows engineering and security standards; solutions are extensible, optimized, and scalable

  • Document designs, team processes, and operational runbooks

  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical infrastructure

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Drive technical alignment and foster collaboration across teams

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers; actively grow the careers of team members

  • Drive technical decisions across the team, handling disagreements and trade-offs constructively

  • Resolve conflicts across teams without being divisive; teach team to integrate disparate approaches

  • Provide actionable feedback during code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions

  • Partner with InfoSec, DevOps, Network, and Application teams on cross-functional initiatives

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
