About the job: 

Kent is seeking a Senior Planner to join our Brisbane projects team. The Senior Planner role will primarily focus on the project construction schedule and progress measurement development, tracking and analysis for one particular contract and projects.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a critical Australian infrastructure project which will be instrumental in reducing emissions and improving the environment. This is an exciting role for an experienced planning professional to contribute strategic value, influence project outcomes and be an integral part of a high-performing team delivering complex and challenging work.


Your Day to Day will include:

  • Developing construction schedules using first principles considering resources, quantities, plants, and equipment.
  • Developing progress measurement calculations for various construction disciplines to track and monitor productivity on site.
  • Responsible for implementation & utilisation of Kent planning procedures, tools & techniques for optimised schedule performance.
  • Carry out duties in a constructive & cohesive manner, ensuring the accuracy of project schedule input/output.
  • Support the Lead Planner in conducting Integrated planning reviews (IAP).
  • Assists in developing planning procedures in conjunction with Lead Planner.
  • Develop / support ‘in-house’ training & mentoring plans, improving planner competency.
  • Produce and submit schedule delay analysis reports to the Lead Planner for review and any actions. 
  • Incorporate project schedule change into the master schedule.
  • Develop Recovery Plans in line with the agreed revised strategy.
  • Manage Project Fabrication Schedule Change.
  • Produce schedule Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist the Lead Planner in developing what-if scenarios and recovery plans in case of program slippage and scope creep.
  • Review detailed subcontract schedules before inclusion into the master schedule.
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Lead Planner.
  • Producing and/or inputting to internal and external reports
  • Liaising with the cost team for cost reporting, trending & forecasting

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have a professional tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, advanced P6 skills and advanced Power BI capability, with experience working in an EPC environment, ideally within the Oil & Gas sector. They will also demonstrate a minimum of ten years of project delivery experience, with extensive expertise in planning and scheduling across construction projects.
