Senior Performance Engineer for OPENLANE, Inc. located in Carmel, IN. Design, develop, execute and implement performance testing for enterprise and custom applications in a pre-implementation stage. Utilize performance testing tools like JMeter, Blazemeter and AWS Load tester. Perform both backend and frontend performance testing. Work within an agile environment and educate scrum teams on unit or component level performance testing practices. Solid understanding of different performance testing types and testing strategies, including reliability, scalability, performance and security. Proven ability to write and execute performance testing scripts following testing best practices. Experience identifying performance bottlenecks and failures and able to identify potential points of failure related to application and system performance. Develop, gather, and publish performance related matrix at unit and systems-wide level. Provide additional diagnostic information about bugs to developers to aid in the quick remediation of defects. Write test cases and scenarios in support of automated testing. Thorough understanding of testing fundamentals and quality metrics. Identify potential performance bottlenecks by reviewing architecture and chosen technology. Utilize, build, and maintain the performance test framework. Develop a performance test plan defining the scope, timeframe and resources for a given performance test initiative at a systems level. Provide active technical leadership throughout the entire development process. Conducts reviews of performance test results and communicate regularly to project teams performance issues and resolution.Work with Linux, OpenShift, and Kubernetes environment configuration. Code on AWS Cloud and Azure Cloud platform. Use Oracle DB, EC2. Use APM Tools like AWS X-ray, Grafana, Honeycomb, AppDynamics or Splunk. Incorporate CI tool such as Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, GitHub. Automate REST API Web Services (Postman, SOAP UI). Use Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira, or other ALM tools.  May telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or related degree and 6 years of experience as a Performance Engineer or engineer in a performance testing role; or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or related degree and 8 years of experience as a Performance Engineer or engineer in a performance testing role.

Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience with: Linux, OpenShift, and Kubernetes environment configuration; AWS Cloud and Azure Cloud platform; Oracle DB, EC2; CI tool such as Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, GitHub; automation of REST API Web Services (Postman, SOAP UI); ALM tools (e.g., Azure Dev Ops or Confluence, Jira); and Agile methodologies. Must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience with: performance testing tools like JMeter, Blazemeter or AWS Load tester; and backend and frontend performance testing. Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience with APM Tools like AWS X-ray, Grafana, Honeycomb, AppDynamics. May telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.
