About MetLife Resources: MetLife Resources (MLR) is a key business line within Retirement Income Solutions (RIS), providing group defined contribution retirement plan products and services in the K-12, higher education, healthcare, governmental, religious, and other non-profit industries. The scope of the business is ~$13B in assets under administration, $70M in pre-tax earnings, ~13K employer groups and ~280K participants. MLR associates are dedicated to building successful retirement outcomes for plan sponsors and their employees.
About the Role: As a Senior Metrics Consultant at MetLife Resources, your primary responsibility will be to transform data into actionable information for business decision-making. You will collect data from various sources, generate management reports for all levels of leadership, and maintain Power BI dashboards to track MLR metrics for team members and leadership. You will manage the Objective and Key Results and Quarterly Product Review (QPR) presentations shared on a regular basis with executive leadership. Additionally, you will create reports for the Investment team using software tools and sources such as Alteryx and Morningstar Direct.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze our data ecosystem and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights, leveraging data to enhance business value through the usage of data use cases.
- Track, analyze, and report complex information for a large organization.
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to generate regular reports.
- Provide detailed complex data analysis and trends, along with recommendations and observations for review by senior management.
- Design and develop comprehensive reports and interactive dashboards to visualize data and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Manage strategic projects that encompass both short- and long-term business planning.
- Work on different Data Products through the design and execution of database queries, using BI tools, to perform analysis in response to business needs.
- Manage Quarterly Product Review slides for executive leadership.
- Monitor business unit performance against established targets and benchmarks, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements and goals ensuring a thorough understanding of business needs and objectives.
- Provide project management support for data-related projects to increase efficiency.
- Make recommendations to management on enhancing processes and products based on data analysis.
- Drive innovation by enhancing existing solutions and designing new ones.
- Create investment reports using, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Alteryx and Morningstar Direct.
Required Qualifications:
- Microsoft Excel with proven experience in building complex financial models. Excellent knowledge of Excel, including advanced formulas, functions, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
- Alteryx: Hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer, utilizing workflows for data blending, data preparation, and advanced analytics.
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Proficiency in ETL processes and tools, extracting data from diverse sources, transforming it, and loading it into target systems.
- Data Visualization Tools: Hands on with data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Skills in data programming, data visualization, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working in the financial services industry.
- Excellent organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and strong attention to detail
- Bachelor's or other advanced degree.
Additional Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in group insurance/retirement industry.
