What you will do

The Senior MES Engineer is responsible for configuring, developing, enhancing, and supporting Kenvue's Global Manufacturing Execution System solution based on the AVEVA MES platform.

The role works closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and manufacturing sites to deliver MES capabilities that support business and operational requirements across the manufacturing network. The position is highly hands-on, with a primary focus on solution configuration, software development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of MES applications.

The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Global MES template while supporting manufacturing digitization initiatives across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

MES Development & Configuration

Configure and develop MES solutions using the AVEVA MES platform
Develop and maintain MES workflows, forms, screens, and business logic
Create solution enhancements and implement new functionality based on business requirements
Participate in technical design discussions and translate designs into working solutions
Develop proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes when required
Support testing, validation, and deployment activities
Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of MES application issues
Integration & Data Management

Develop and support integrations between MES and enterprise systems
Create and maintain database interfaces, APIs, and data exchanges
Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, and reports to support business processes
Troubleshoot data flow and integration issues across application and database layers
Ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance of MES solutions
Global MES Template Support

Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the Global MES Template
Support rollout activities across manufacturing sites
Help identify opportunities for solution standardization and reuse
Participate in solution documentation and knowledge-sharing activities
Ensure delivered solutions align with established standards and best practices
Delivery Support

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to understand requirements
Contribute to technical specifications and solution designs
Break requirements into development tasks and user stories
Participate in sprint planning, development, testing, and release activities
Provide effort estimates and status updates for assigned work packages
Operational Support

Support production environments and incident resolution activities
Investigate and resolve application defects and performance issues
Participate in system upgrades, maintenance, and enhancement initiatives
Assist users and site teams with technical issue resolution when required
 

What we are looking for

Required Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with AVEVA MES (Wonderware MES) and AVEVA Work Tasks development and configuration
Experience configuring and supporting MES applications in manufacturing environments
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and ISA-95 principles
Strong SQL skills, including script development, stored procedures, and troubleshooting
JavaScript development experience for MES customization and user interface enhancements
Experience working with application integrations, APIs, and database interfaces
Familiarity with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub development processes
Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, integration, and database layers
Experience with software testing, deployment, and support activities
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
Good communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
Willingness to learn new technologies and manufacturing processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
 

Preferred Experience

Experience in pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, life sciences, or FMCG manufacturing environments
Exposure to MES implementations or site rollouts
Experience working in Agile delivery teams
Knowledge of manufacturing systems integrations with ERP, LIMS, SCADA, or Historian platforms
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and modern software development practices
