Role Overview

The Senior Managing Director, Digital Transformation & AI Growth Leader is an executive-level position responsible for driving substantial market growth, originating new client relationships, and expanding Ankura's Digital Transformation platform. The primary focus of this role is go-to-market leadership and business development across Ankura's six Digital Transformation capabilities, helping organizations transform how they operate through data, automation, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation.

The ideal candidate is a recognized market leader, trusted advisor, and self-sustaining originator with an established executive network that can generate $5M+ annually in new business opportunities. This individual will work closely with Ankura's Performance Improvement, Office of the CFO, Digital, Cybersecurity, Risk, and industry teams to identify opportunities, create solutions, and deliver transformational outcomes for clients. The successful candidate will possess a strong personal brand, extensive C-suite relationships, and a proven ability to convert complex business challenges into high-value consulting engagements. The role requires a combination of strategic vision, commercial leadership, industry expertise, and the ability to translate emerging digital and AI trends into meaningful client impact.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Originate and convert new business opportunities that generate $5M+ annually in consulting revenue.

  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for Ankura's Digital Transformation practice.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships across Fortune 1000 companies, private equity firms, portfolio companies, and key industry stakeholders.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities where digital transformation, AI, data modernization, automation, and operational transformation drive measurable enterprise value.

  • Partner with leaders across Ankura to create integrated cross-functional solutions for clients.

  • Lead strategic account planning and expansion efforts across priority clients and industries.

  • Serve as a visible market leader through conferences, speaking engagements, industry events, publications, and executive forums.

Digital Transformation Market Leadership

  • Position Ankura as a leading advisor across the six Digital Transformation capability areas:

  • IT Foundation

  • Enterprise Data Platform

  • Enterprise Intelligence

  • Process Automation

  • Competitive Intelligence

  • Autonomous Functions

  • Develop market-facing offerings, solution frameworks, and thought leadership that support client acquisition and revenue growth.

  • Advise senior executives and boards on digital transformation strategy, AI adoption, operational modernization, and value realization initiatives.

  • Translate emerging technology and AI trends into practical business solutions and commercial opportunities.

  • Identify new market opportunities and industry-specific use cases that align with Ankura's capabilities and growth objectives.

Executive Client Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CTOs, COOs, Chief Data Officers, private equity sponsors, and boards of directors.

  • Lead executive-level discussions focused on transformation strategy, operating model evolution, digital modernization, and enterprise AI enablement.

  • Provide strategic oversight for large-scale transformation programs and high-profile client engagements.

  • Support proposal development, solution design, contract negotiations, and executive presentations.

Practice Building & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Ankura leadership to scale Digital Transformation offerings across industries and geographies.

  • Mentor and develop consulting professionals while helping build high-performing teams.

  • Support recruiting and talent acquisition efforts for senior digital transformation professionals.

  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property, methodologies, accelerators, and AI-enabled solutions.

  • Work closely with business group leaders to integrate Digital Transformation services into broader Ankura client solutions.

Thought Leadership

  • Serve as an internal and external thought leader on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, automation, data strategy, and enterprise modernization.

  • Publish insights and participate in market discussions that enhance Ankura's visibility and market reputation.

  • Stay current on emerging technologies, competitor offerings, market trends, and investment activity impacting client demand.

  • Help shape Ankura's long-term strategy for AI-enabled growth and enterprise transformation services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 15+ years of consulting, advisory, technology, digital transformation, or related business leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated success generating and sustaining a substantial personal book of business, preferably $5M+ annually.

  • Strong executive presence and an established network among C-suite leaders, boards, private equity firms, and corporate decision-makers.

  • Deep understanding of several of the following disciplines: Digital Transformation; Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI; Enterprise Data Strategy; Business Intelligence and Analytics; Process Automation; Business Process Transformation; Technology Modernization; and Operational Excellence.

  • Proven experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies that drive significant revenue growth.

  • Track record of leading complex, enterprise-scale transformation initiatives.

  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, presentation, and sales skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple business practices and delivery teams.

  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to connect transformation initiatives to measurable business outcomes and enterprise value creation.

  • Recognized industry reputation and personal brand that generates inbound client opportunities and market credibility.
