MUST HAVE
  • Proven success profitably scaling new and existing brands on YouTube.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in BI tools (Looker, Google Analytics, etc.) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, regression analysis, correlation, etc).
  • Strong understanding of best practices that drive high-performing creatives, including YouTube ABCDs, briefs, and collaborating on video production with creative teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience owning P&L and hitting aggressive growth + profitability goals, and building best practice playbooks. 
  • Exceptional collaboration and proactive communication skills; comfortable presenting insights both written and verbal, and influencing decision-making across teams.
EXPERIENCE: 6+ years managing and scaling a YouTube performance-based portfolio, with budgets of $20M+/year.YOUR ROLE

You are a YouTube performance marketing expert who will take full ownership of Launch Potato’s YouTube business. This is a career-defining opportunity: you’ll be responsible for significantly scaling one of our most important growth channels while maintaining profitability.

You’ll combine hands-on campaign management with high-level strategy, directly owning campaign execution, P&L, and growth targets. From testing new creatives to developing playbooks, you’ll push the limits of what’s possible in YouTube performance marketing, and over time, expand into other verticals performance video platforms.

This role has a clear growth path to leading performance video across brands and verticals within Launch Potato’s portfolio.

OUTCOMES (PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS)
  • Take full ownership of campaign performance, pacing, reporting, operations, setup, and P&L for Insurance YouTube campaigns.
  • Deliver consistent growth in spend and profitability, reaching a 2x annualized run rate in year one at a minimum of 110% ROAS.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders, backed by rigorous data insights, reporting, and analysis.
  • Drive measurable improvements in CTR, CVR, ROAS, and margin through ongoing creative testing and iteration.
  • Collaborate with the creative team on video production, advocating for what your campaigns need to succeed. 
  • Expand YouTube campaigns into new insurance and other financial services verticals to drive incremental revenue and expand the portfolio. 
  • Share best practices and insights across the Paid Media team to strengthen YouTube performance in other verticals.
  • Build and lead a video-first performance marketing and paid media team to support execution as investment scales.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, and external vendors to creatively build net new audiences that target high value customers.

COMPETENCIES
  • Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in Google/YouTube Ads and analytics platforms (We use Looker).
  • P&L Ownership: Experience managing budgets at scale and delivering on aggressive growth + margin goals.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely articulate data and POV for easy understanding and leadership alignment. 
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to turn performance data into actionable growth strategies.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, quickly testing and iterating. Managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Leadership Potential: Desire and ability to grow into a manager role, building and leading a team.
  • Growth Focus: Commitment to staying ahead of video and performance marketing trends.
  • Operational Efficiency: Build campaigns in the best way to scale, which might not always be the best practice, that ensures we have all creative sizes, conversion events, or information to give you a competitive edge against competitor brands.
NICE TO HAVES
  • Experience with linear TV, streaming, or other video-first platforms (Meta, TikTok).
  • Experience with MMM tools and measurement solutions to understand the halo-effect of video efforts on other marketing channels. 
  • Familiarity with AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, MidJourney, etc) for workflows.
  • Knowledge of personal finance and consumer financial products.
  • Experience mentoring peers or leading knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with competitor analysis tools like SimilarWeb, AdBeat, Ahrefs, SpyFu, etc.

TOTAL COMPENSATION

Base salary is set according to market rates for the nearest major metro and varies based on Launch Potato’s Levels Framework. Your compensation package includes a base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits. Launch Potato is a performance-driven company, which means once you are hired, future increases will be based on company and personal performance, not annual cost of living adjustments.
