Airbnb’s mission is to create a world where people can belong anywhere. As we continue to grow and pursue that mission, we’re seeking a technical, hands-on, and mission-driven Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (TPM).

As a Senior Manager of TPM, you will partner with our Infrastructure organization which provides a cohesive set of foundational technology offerings that enable Airbnb to easily deliver and support scalable, data-powered, and global products. This involves leveraging deep AI fluency and advanced software architecture skills to implement AI-driven processes and tools for hypothesis testing, design validation, and requirements synthesis to accelerate development cycles.
  • Technical Execution & Proactive Quality: Oversee technical execution at a granular level, manage architectural dependencies and mitigate engineering risks. This includes deploying and championing AI-powered solutions for efficient bug triage, predictive root cause analysis, automated testing, and enhancing overall code quality and architectural health within the infrastructure domain.
  • Strategic Technical Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical risks, manage technical debt, and ensure adherence to best practices in a complex, multi-system environment, with specific expertise in cloud infrastructure and MLOps.

A Typical Day:

  • Collaborate with leaders across the company to manage and continuously optimize delivery activities and processes.  Create alignment on strategies and roadmaps, and ensure effective prioritization / trade-offs against overall strategy and organizational constraints
  • Maintain a portfolio view of programs and ensure senior leadership has sufficient visibility into execution status, issues, and decisions to ensure continued alignment
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to proactively understand their needs and opportunities for your team; offer a strategic perspective, sound judgment, and attention to detail to aid in achieving practical business impact
  • Build and maintain a high-performance culture- you will be responsible for developing a team of TPMs, providing continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports
  • Help scale your team's impact by favoring automation over manual work, setting realistic goals and expectations with stakeholders, and up-leveling TPM skills
  • Provide executional guidance and support for your team’s projects by helping simplify the technically complex, unblocking teams, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Partner with your peers leading other TPM teams to strengthen the craft
  • As needed, hands on management of large, complex, strategic programs

Your Expertise:

  • 13+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Technical Program Managers within the Infrastructure technology domain.
  • Strong technical program management background, with demonstrated experience leading large projects across multiple software teams.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of TPMs, creating a culture of inclusiveness and sustainability
  • Organizational leadership, with an ability to collaborate with and influence teams across boundaries
