What we need
As the Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering you will lead the solution design team within our commercial organization and leverage leadership skills and expertise to design solutions to meet our customer needs as part of the sales process. In addition to strong analytical and problem-solving skills used as part of the design process, you will be responsible to present to key internal and external decision makers. Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success.
GreenBox* is pioneering warehousing-as-a-service, offering outsourced warehousing operations, and specializing in automated warehousing solutions. Our focus is on the efficient movement of goods in cases and pallets across all sectors, such as wholesale, retail, and general merchandising.

What we do
The Solutions Engineering team is part of the Sales organization which plays a critical role driving revenue and growth by actively engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and presenting solutions that address those needs effectively. The Solutions Engineering team are a trusted source of technical and analytical expertise within the Sales organization for both internal and external customers.
What you’ll do

Oversee facility design, process flows and personnel requirements to develop customer proposals

Identify our customers’ business and challenges to engineer new solutions that deliver improved productivity and value

Synthesize the results in a clear and concise manner, present to all levels of management and to the customer

Lead the development of all cost models, benchmarking analysis and sensitivity analysis work outputs that are accurate and precise

Manage and lead the design planning for Solutions Engineering team, assign specific projects to balance workload across team members, and ensure timely completion to meet customer due dates

Design, engineer, and layout new solution configurations and designs that will integrate automation systems in our facilities

Develop comprehensive warehouse layouts using AutoCAD

Data modeling using Microsoft Excel, MS Excel PowerPivot, SQL databases and Access. Develop and maintain automation modeling tools. Analyze customer data sets with these tools to size and specify the appropriate automation equipment

Transform business needs into specific hardware, software, or system- level recommendations leading to solutions that enhance our value proposition.

Attend sales calls with the sales team to answer technical questions, assist sales team with proposal development

Creating and maintaining a professional teamwork environment and being an excellent team player while working with various members of the engineering teams
What you’ll need
-
BS/BA in engineering, operations research, science, or business; MBA or Master’s in Engineering preferred
-
Minimum 10 years’ experience with 5 years of solutions engineering experience required
-
Demonstrated leadership experience with cross-functional teams; indirect leadership experience should be evident
-
Proven track record managing complex projects and proposals in the automated materials handling industry
-
Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, business case justification, and cost/benefit tradeoffs

Experience writing sales proposals

Possess extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Data modeling experience and advanced capabilities using Microsoft Excel, MS Excel PowerPivot, SQL databases and Access. Programming skills a plus

Strong presentation skills with the confidence to present to large, executive-level audiences. An ability to present complex concepts to customers with varying backgrounds
Our Environment

Up to 25% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
