Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in leading engineering teams and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and managers to deliver cutting edge projects that shape the future of our industry. This is not just a people management role; it's an opportunity to lead with vision, influence, and strategic thinking in a fast-paced environment. You will be at the forefront of our Agile development initiatives, ensuring that our solutions not only meet but exceeds our stakeholders' expectations.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to wear multiple hats from strategic planning and risk management to hands-on design, architecture and execution of software development initiatives, working with highly talented software engineers, empowering you to make a significant impact on our delivery outcomes and company growth. Your leadership will inspire teams, foster collaboration and drive innovation, creating a culture of excellence that echoes thought-out the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage engineering initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as product managers and business users to define scope, objectives and deliverables while managing your engineering team throughout the product life cycle
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, Planning and promoting team continuous improvement
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing issues to avoid delays
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project and engineering updates and reporting, ensure transparency and effective communication with stakeholders
  • Coordinate with various funnels to ensure resource availability and prioritization of work

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience) required
  • 10+ years pr prior experience in software development
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams
  • Proven expertise in Agile Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc) and project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross functional teams
  • Expertise in fault-tolerant system design, high-availability services, and handling high-throughput, real-time data processing
  • Proficiency in cloud-based (GCP) backend systems and micro-service architecture to ensure scalability and reliability
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Understanding of security best practices for APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills to navigate complexities and deliver effective solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to details
  • Familiarity with financial systems, trading and accounting concepts, and compliance within regulated environments to build high-quality and secure solutions highly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a hybrid, office environment 3 days per week
