The Senior Manager, Risk & Insurance leads the corporate insurance programs and operational risk management, ensuring preparedness for business disruptions and compliance with governance policies.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Risk & Insurance to lead and manage all aspects of our corporate insurance programs, operational risk management, and business continuity planning. This newly created role is a key leadership position responsible for building and executing a global risk management framework tailored to the needs of a high-growth, PE-backed software company. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience managing complex insurance portfolios and enterprise risk across global operations, particularly in carve-out or fast-growth environments. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, and operational teams to proactively identify risks, oversee insurance renewals and claims, and ensure the business is prepared for disruption. This role requires strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, evolving business landscape.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $160,000-200,000.
This position is currently part of Boeing but is planned to transition to an independent company owned by Thoma Bravo, as part of a pending divestiture of the Digital Aviation Solutions organization. If you are selected for this role, your employment may initially be with Boeing (dependent on start date). Subject to final regulatory approvals and closing conditions, your employment may transfer to the divested business owned by Thoma Bravo at close. Additional details about this transition will be shared as they become available. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the carve-out and stand-up of Jeppesen and ForeFlight's global insurance program, including property, casualty, cyber, D&O, E&O, and other key coverages
- Manage insurance renewals, broker relationships, policy negotiations, and claims handling processes
- Oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning in partnership with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, INFOSEC and Operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise risk management (ERM) practices appropriate for a PE-backed software business
- Lead business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management planning and exercises
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and private equity sponsors on risk appetite, coverage strategies, and board reporting
- Support M&A, international expansion, and contractual risk transfer reviews
- Implement and continuously improve risk reporting dashboards, processes, and insurance documentation management
- Establish governance and compliance policies related to corporate risk and insurance operations
- Identify and procure a risk management tech stack as needed
- Build a scalable, efficient risk and insurance function to support the company's long-term growth
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience managing corporate insurance programs and operational risk management
- Experience working within a carve-out, PE-backed, or highly dynamic corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance markets, brokers, carriers, and claims processes
- Proven ability to develop and implement enterprise risk and continuity programs
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing international insurance placements and multi-jurisdictional risk
Preferred Qualifications:
- ARM, CPCU, or CRM designation
- Experience in SaaS, aviation, or technology businesses
- Exposure to cyber insurance and technology risk programs
- Familiarity with private equity reporting and governance expectations
- Pilot or aviation enthusiast
