This role will lead the quality assurance testing efforts for our AP Solutions with primary focus of functional, integration, performance, and regression testing. In addition, this role will drive Quality Assurance approach, automation, defect management, and continuous improvements while ensuring our Pay software delivers scale, resiliency, and customer satisfaction. The Senior QA Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, product, architecture, and operations teams to define quality standards with automation-first approach. The Job requires experience in running enterprise agile teams, have deep knowledge in SaaS architecture and deployment principles.


What You'll Do:

  • Define our QA vision, test pyramid/trophy, and governance (Quality CoE/Guild) across AP products.
  • Establish and track quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, MTTD, and MTTR.
  • Ensure shift-left testing by embedding quality earlier in the SDLC and also via quality gates in CI/CD (build, deploy, release) to enable "shift-left".
  • Drive the adoption of test automation across all the tech stacks of AP Solutions including APIs, UI interfaces, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage the defect triage process, ensuring quick resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Oversee test planning, execution, and release readiness assessments.
  • Leverage AI to generate/maintain tests and triage failures; set policy and guardrails.
  • Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams to ensure observability, monitoring, and SLAs are met.
  • Improve CI/CD pipeline integration with automated testing to accelerate delivery including contract tests, static analysis, early NFR definition, and more.
  • Own test data management (synthetic & masked), prod-like environments, and ephemeral environments.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing QA team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Create an environment that promotes learning; enabling teammates to resolve and remove their own obstacles, while supporting individuals and teams to learn from failing fast.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain capable individuals to build high-performant teams; establish mission and purpose for individuals and teams. Perform career coaching and personal development; evaluate performance, including team input; provide guidance and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on being a best-in-class product delivery organization. Maintain a culture of delivering on-time, on-scope, on-budget, and on-quality and fully accountable for software quality and on-time delivery.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field and 10+ years of experience in software testing and QA, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience supervising professional level Engineering staff through large complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of test automation tools (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, xUnit, K6/Loderunner, Postman) or equivalents.
  • Hands-on experience with UI regression testing, API testing, microservices validation, and event-driven architectures.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests with tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven testing including Agentic AI, observability tooling, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Experience with Kafka (or equivalent), queues, schema registries, and contract evolution.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
