Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a strategic, systems-thinking Senior Manager of Organization Design to support the evolution of our Go-to-Market (GTM) organization. This role will partner closely with business and HR leaders to ensure that structure, capabilities, processes, and talent are aligned to our growth strategy. You’ll play a key role in shaping a high-performing GTM organization by driving holistic org design efforts that touch all components of the operating model—not just structure.

This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about building future-ready organizations using data, tools, and rigorous design thinking.

This position will report to the Director, Organization Design and can be 100% remote in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Lead Strategic Organization Design for GTM

  • Partner with GTM and HR leadership to diagnose organizational challenges and design fit-for-purpose organizational design programs that align with Autodesk’s strategic priorities

  • Lead end-to-end org design initiatives including capability mapping, structural design, role clarity, cross functional interlocks, decision making, process alignment, tools, performance and cultural norms for optimal effectiveness

Integrate Across All Org Design Dimensions

  • Ensure organization designs consider the full spectrum of organizational components including capability mapping, structural design, role clarity, cross functional interlocks, decision making, process alignment, tools, performance and cultural norms for optimal effectiveness

  • Drive alignment across design elements to drive customer focus, optimize growth, and ensure efficient and effective execution across GTM functions (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, GTM Strategy & Operations, and GTM Technology)

Leverage Data, Modeling & Tools

  • Utilize organizational modeling and workforce analytics to inform design recommendations

  • Leverage organization model tools (like OrgVue, Agentnoon) and internal data analytics to model current and future-state structures, analyze key workforce measures, and support workforce planning

  • Translate complex organizational data into clear insights for senior leaders

Collaborate & Influence

  • Work cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, Finance, Program Managers, and GTM leaders to ensure integrated, sustainable solutions

  • Coach leaders through organization design choices and change implications

  • Contribute to development of enterprise-wide org effectiveness and organization design methods and practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or in Business, Organizational Psychology, HR, or related experience

  • 8+ years of experience in org design, operating model transformation, workforce planning, business transformation, or management consulting, ideally within a tech or SaaS environment

  • Experience in global organizations with hybrid or matrixed structures

  • Strong experience supporting complex commercial organizations such as GTM, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, and/or IT

  • Ability to manage and deliver across multiple, concurrent org design initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

  • Strong strategic thinking, facilitation, and executive influencing skills

  • Strong data analytics interpretation and visualization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in org design tools like OrgVue, Agentnoon, or similar modeling platforms; experience translating data into actionable recommendations

  • Experience in consulting or advisory roles, especially supporting large-scale organizational transformation efforts

  • Familiarity with the unique demands and operating rhythms of GTM organizations

  • Knowledge of customer segmentation strategies and how org design can enable differentiated go-to-market approaches

  • Working knowledge of organizational change management and transformation planning

  • Curious, analytical mindset with a drive to solve complex problems at scale

  • You are a systems thinker:You excel at breaking down complex challenges into manageable components, but you never lose sight of how those pieces fit into the broader strategy. You approach problems with a holistic mindset, recognizing that small changes in one area can have far-reaching effects throughout the system. You don’t just address symptoms—you dig deep to uncover root causes, always seeking long-term solutions that drive sustainable improvements

  • You are a problem solver: You are skilled at navigating ambiguity, cutting through complexity, and bringing clarity to situations that others might find overwhelming. You excel at translating complex scenarios into clear, actionable insights. When confronted with intricate challenges, you have a unique ability to break down the situation, distill the core issues, and articulate them in a way that makes sense to all stakeholders. When you present solutions, you do so with a deep understanding of the trade-offs involved, ensuring that all potential risks and benefits are clearly articulated

  • You are data driven: You are a data-driven operator who relies on facts and insights to navigate complex situations, diffusing emotion and bias in the process. When challenges arise, you turn to data to ground your decisions, using it as the anchor to steer conversations and solutions away from subjective interpretations. Your ability to present objective, well-supported data helps refocus teams, ensuring that discussions remain clear, constructive, and aligned with measurable outcomes
