The Role
As Senior Manager of Digital Marketing, you’ll get to shape and scale a modern digital fundraising function—leveraging automation, segmentation, and experimentation to turn curiosity into commitment and one-time givers into loyal supporters. We are seeking an entrepreneurial team member to lead our strategy to acquire, retain, and grow our retail (small-dollar) donor base. This role combines digital marketing expertise with a deep understanding of donor journeys, CRM, and conversion tactics. You will design and test new acquisition campaigns, optimize retention and upsell strategies, and ensure our digital platforms and email systems are seamless and effective.
Reporting to the Director of Growth Communications, this is a hands-on role, ideal for a growth-oriented marketer or fundraiser who thrives on data, experimentation, and scaling impact. If you’re motivated by measurable results, excited to build smart systems, and passionate about using technology to drive global impact, we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities:
- Implement data-driven strategies to grow retail donor acquisition, retention, and lifetime value, building upon an existing revenue stream of ~$4.5m.
- Lead iterative testing and optimization of digital campaigns, including paid media, SEO, email journeys, and onboarding flows.
- Create emailed donor communications and engagement opportunities, including leading the storytelling and writing of our email marketing, upsell campaigns, and conceiving of and executing donor events.
- Manage digital platforms, ensuring high-performing website donation flows, page launches, and seamless integrations.
- Leverage AI, automation tools, and our CRM to personalize donor communications, enhance segmentation, and improve conversion performance.
- Develop scalable systems and streamlined workflows that promote rapid iteration, data-driven decision-making, and actionable insights from campaign metrics and donor data to support revenue forecasting.
- Manage KPIs for continuous improvement, recommending strategies that exceed goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (fundraising, communications, web development) to ensure consistent, impactful donor experiences.
Position Location
This role location is flexible anywhere within the United States for fully remote candidates.
- You have 5–7 years of experience in digital marketing, e-commerce growth, or retail/grassroots fundraising, with at least 2–3 years leading campaigns or programs end-to-end.
- You have a track record of measurable revenue growth from online donors/customers — e.g., scaling small-dollar donors, driving acquisition and retention, or increasing lifetime value.
- You have experience managing multi-channel acquisition and retention campaigns (email, paid media, SEO, partnerships).
- You are familiar with conversion optimization (landing page testing, checkout flows, or donation form optimization).
- You are experienced with CRM and marketing automation tools (Salesforce, Mailchimp, or similar).
- You are comfortable interpreting KPIs, running A/B tests, and using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Looker, etc.) to translate data into actionable insights.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content tailored for diverse audiences.
- You've performance managed vendors like graphic designers to support growth aims.
- You can work cross-functionally and align digital fundraising efforts with broader organizational goals.
