Job Description:
What You'll Do

  • This position is within the Credit Review team under Corporate Risk Management. Credit Review team is responsible for providing assurance to the Board of Directors of credit quality and adequacy of credit risk management processes through effective planning and execution of risk-based consumer credit reviews across the life cycle of consumer lending products (credit card, personal loans and home equity loans) and non-consumer credit reviews on financial and non-financial counterparties with credit risks. Primarily, the incumbent is responsible for providing an independent assurance view on asset quality and risk management processes of both 1st and 2nd line of defense to ensure the safety and soundness of risk management processes. The senior manager will have strong knowledge of credit strategy development and credit risk management process, loss estimation process for allowance and capital planning stress testing, and regulatory expectations towards safety and soundness. This individual will have skills and experience to lead Consumer and non-Consumer Credit Reviews, provide oversight on review activities and deliver the review results including identification of issues and overseeing the reporting of the review results to relevant stakeholders and credit governance committees.
  • Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee.


How You'll Do It

  • Develops Credit Review plan using a risk-based approach and executes the Credit Reviews across all consumer lending products covering credit cards, personal loans, and home equity loans, and non-lending activities including financial and non-financial counterparty. Provides assurance on credit quality and credit risk management's adherence with the credit policies and governing documents and safety and soundness regulatory guidance through conducting review activities.
  • Collaborates with credit management teams to mitigate any identified credit risk concerns. Reports findings through the appropriate, established governance processes.
  • Interacts with business partners, senior management, governance committees, and regulators to present (both orally and written) Credit Review assessment results and findings in a clear, complete, and concise manner.
  • Implements and maintains continuous monitoring of credit policy changes, credit decision changes and credit quality of the portfolio.
  • Participates in department, CRM, and enterprise-management processes and practices to attract and develop talent. Provides constructive feedback, coaching, training, etc., to team members on a routine basis in order to effectively manage and mentor team members.


Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics

  • Masters in Statistics, Economics, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or related.
  • 5+ years of Credit review or credit risk management experience at large financial institutions or internal audit credit risk coverage function.
  • 8+ years of Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative field, or equivalent internship or research experience.
  • 3+ years of Knowledge of data analysis and analytical tools to support the Credit Reviews.
  • In Lieu of Education, 12+ years of experience in credit card, or related financial services industry.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Ph.D in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance.
  • 10+ years of Credit review or credit risk management experience at large financial institutions or internal audit credit risk coverage function.
  • 10+ years of Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative field, or equivalent internship or research experience.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $106,000.00 to $178,800.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
