About Caribou

At Caribou, we care about giving people financial freedom so they can focus on what’s most important to them. Today, less than two percent of Americans refinance their auto loans despite drastic increases in the cost of new and used cars. We see huge potential to help folks reduce their monthly auto expenses, as well as increase the predictability of those expenses over time. We do this by building technology to pair customers with community banks and credit unions, and ushering them through the process quickly. On average, our drivers save $115/month on their car loans while protecting their investment long term.

Caribou is led by leaders from the technology, automotive, and finance industries. We’re proud to be backed by a great team of investors, including QED Investors, Goldman Sachs, Moderne Ventures, Accomplice, Link Ventures, Motley Fool Ventures and others.

About the Role

As Caribou’s Corporate Finance Senior Manager, you will be a pivotal, highly visible leader within Caribou’s Finance team, directly shaping our short and long term strategic financial direction.  This role sits at the critical intersection of Finance, Strategy and Operations, spearheading corporate financial planning, M&A initiatives and investor relations.  Reporting directly to Caribou’s Chief Financial Officer, you will drive both strategic planning, our internal / external financial narrative and key business execution in close collaboration with our senior leadership team.

In this role, you will…

  • Own and structure highly sophisticated financial models for evaluating greenfield initiatives, optimizing core offerings and leading complex full spectrum M&A transactions.
  • Serve as a key strategic advisor by developing a deep understanding of market dynamics, the competitive landscape and macroeconomic trends to proactively identify opportunities to maximize enterprise valuation.
  • Collaborate extensively with Caribou’s senior leadership team to strategically manage on and off balance sheet capital capacity requirements to accelerate growth and diversify borrower credit score distribution.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of Board, investor and company presentations, providing concise, high quality analysis and strategic actionable insights.
  • Actively identify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing robust mitigation strategies while simultaneously capitalizing on strategic financial opportunities to drive value creation.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation across financial analysis, reporting and forecasting leveraging best-in-class methodologies and technology.
  • Translate complex financial and quantitative analysis into clear, compelling visualizations and actionable insights for diverse audiences to enable efficient and informed decision making.
  • Partner seamlessly with Accounting to anchor to “actuals” interpreting and surfacing underlying financial trends to achieve desired financial targets.

This role can be based out of our Caribou office in Denver, CO. Alternatively, this role may work remotely from a state where Caribou operates with a preference for the Chicago, IL, Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA markets.*  This role requires attendance at occasional in-person team meetings.
