Job Description

At Nielsen, we are the global leader in audience measurement, data, and analytics. We empower our clients with powerful, independent insights into people's behaviors across all channels and platforms, helping them make better and faster marketing and media decisions.

As the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role on our Google team, driving revenue and market share by evangelizing Nielsen’s proprietary data assets. We are looking for a strategic, results-driven professional who is passionate about disrupting the landscape of audience measurement and helping clients succeed in a rapidly changing data ecosystem.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial strategy for your assigned vertical, developing and executing plans to grow and enhance the Nielsen/Google partnership.

  • Drive revenue growth by achieving and exceeding sales targets for your book of business.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including product development, data science, marketing, and legal to align commercial efforts with company objectives.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, acting as a trusted advisor to build strong, lasting partnerships with clients at all levels, including executives.

  • Maintain deep expertise on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform future growth and innovation strategies.

  • Manage sales performance by accurately forecasting, tracking progress, and providing regular updates to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Proven Track Record: 5+ years of experience in business development, preferably in media, data, or analytics, with a history of consistently exceeding revenue targets.

  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with both short and long sales cycles.

  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem and a passion for staying on the cutting edge of digital innovation.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is a plus.

  • Professional Skills: A self-motivated and highly productive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment. Must possess the ability to build trust with clients at all levels and effectively collaborate across multiple time zones.
