We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Manager, Business Development to play a pivotal role in driving our growth within the Health & Benefits technology market. This individual will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, analyzing industry trends, providing strategic insights, and supporting the execution of our business development initiatives. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Executive leadership to shape our go-to-market strategy and accelerate our expansion.

How you'll make an impact
 

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of the HR SaaS market, including market size, growth trends, competitive landscape, customer needs, and emerging technologies.

  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential target markets, customer segments, partnerships, and product extensions.

  • Competitive Intelligence: Continuously monitor and analyze competitor activities, strategies, and product offerings to inform our competitive positioning and identify potential threats and opportunities.

  • Strategic Insights & Recommendations: Translate market research and analysis into actionable insights and recommendations for business development strategies, market entry plans, and product roadmap decisions.

  • Go-to-Market Support: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and refine go-to-market strategies, including target audience definition, value proposition messaging, and sales enablement materials.

  • Partnership Development: Identify and evaluate potential strategic partnerships that can accelerate market access and expand our product offerings.

  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop financial models and forecasts to assess the potential ROI of new business opportunities and strategic initiatives.

  • Presentation & Communication: Effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization through clear and concise presentations and reports.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development initiatives.

  • Sales Support: Provide analytical support to the Sales team, including market sizing for target accounts, competitive analysis for specific deals, and the development of compelling value propositions.

Experience You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development, market analysis, strategic consulting, or a related role within the technology industry, preferably with a focus on SaaS.

  • Proven ability to conduct thorough market research, analyze complex data, and generate actionable insights.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop financial models and forecasts.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.  

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
