Job Description

This position is responsible for managing and supporting the General Counsel Organization (GCO) Business as Usual (BAU) portfolio, partnering closely with GCO business stakeholders and Technology to prioritize, manage and track BAU efforts driven by evolving regulatory requirements and business needs that require downstream system enhancements. As part of this, this role leads discovery and requirements definition, provides light project management support, and facilitates delivery across BAU initiatives while serving as the primary point of contact for Technology.
The position continually defines and refines processes and works with Technology partners to establish, implement, and maintain new processes and technology controls to support 30+ technology-managed assets in additional to a number of business-led technology assets. In addition, this role owns key governance and risk processes for GCO, specifically, the GCO Business Continuity Plan and leads Data Governance processes, Business Technology Certification, NYDFS and other processes, ensuring compliance, readiness, and alignment with enterprise standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesGCO BAU Portfolio Management
  • Manage and support the GCO BAU intake, prioritization, and delivery process in partnership with GCO stakeholders and Technology.

  • Prioritize BAU efforts driven by regulatory changes, risk findings, and evolving business needs requiring system enhancements.

  • Ensure BAU initiatives are appropriately scoped, sequenced, and aligned to support timely downstream delivery.

  • Provide transparency into BAU demand, priorities, delivery status, and capacity across stakeholder

GCO BAU Business Discovery, Requirements & Delivery Definition
  • Lead and facilitate business discovery sessions to understand regulatory, operational, and system impacts.

  • Lead, facilitate or translate business needs into clear, actionable business and functional requirements and partner with Technology to ensure requirements are understood, feasible, and aligned with enterprise architecture and controls.

  • Continually define, refine, and document business processes and related controls.

  • Provide lightweight project management support for BAU initiatives, including coordination across business and technology teams.

  • Track milestones, manage dependencies, and escalate risks and issues as needed.

  • Support multiple concurrent BAU efforts, balancing urgency, risk, and capacity constraints.

Process Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify opportunities to improve BAU intake, prioritization, and execution processes.

  • Support GCO Innovation through BAU delivery that drives automation and efficiency within existing technology platforms.

  • Promote consistency, discipline, and best practices across analysis, delivery, and governance activities.

Governance, Risk & Control Ownership
  • Ownership of the Business Continuity Plan

  • Lead and/or support key GCO governance and control processes, including: Data Governance, Business T Certification, NYDFS requirements, SSO certificate renewals

  • Develop, implement, and document best‑practice protocols that minimize operating risk.

  • Ensure compliance, audit readiness, and alignment with enterprise standards and expectations.

Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to effectively communicate priorities, timelines, and delivery outcomes.

  • Take a leadership role with Technology and external vendors to support ongoing system maintenance and enhancements.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to GCO stakeholders and a key liaison to Technology.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the financial services industry.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory‑driven initiatives and complex operating environments. Knowledge and experience working with agile and waterfall methodologies.

  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to develop and communicate effective recommendations to senior management.

  • Proven ability to analyze data with attention to detail and draw meaningful insights.

  • Ability to understand and interrelate complex issues across business, technology, risk, and regulatory disciplines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed environment.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and initiatives concurrently.

  • Knowledge and experience working with ServiceNow and Jira.

  • Knowledge and experience work with data lakes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP or equivalent) beneficial.

  • Experience supporting Legal, Compliance, Risk, or other control‑oriented functions.

  • Hands‑on experience with data governance, technology controls, or business continuity processes.

  • Familiarity with enterprise SDLC, governance, and risk management frameworks.

  • Experience partnering closely with Technology teams and external vendors.

  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement, automation, or innovation within BAU environments

In-Office Collaboration

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $87,400 - $120,200 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
