We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Senior Lead of Software Engineering at JP Morgan Chase within Asset and Wealth Management Team, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You serve in a engineering manager leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for technical software engineers, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the lead on end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) for front-office financial applications.
  • Architect, design, and implement large-scale, cloud-native Java solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, Portfolio Managers, and Research Analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with JPMC standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Drive adoption of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices across the team.
  • Oversee application deployment, integration, and ongoing support in a full DevOps model.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expert in Java (preferably Java 11+), Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and enterprise design patterns.
  • Strong experience with messaging/event-driven architectures (MQ/JMS, Kafka preferred).
  • Proficient in SQL/NoSQL databases (Microsoft SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Hands-on experience with unit and automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
  • Deep understanding of Java concurrency and thread-safe programming.
  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure (cloud, virtualization, object stores).
  • Skilled in DevOps tools and processes (GIT/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar).
  • Experience implementing security and integration frameworks.
  • Agile development experience in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge and interest in the financial industry.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools and CI/CD integration.
