REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS: 

  • The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in J2EE technologies, demonstrating a strong understanding of enterprise-level Java development and the ability to build scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
  • Proficiency in working with JBoss and Tomcat application servers is essential, including experience in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Java applications in these environments.
  • A solid background in session management and caching solutions is required, with the ability to implement efficient caching strategies and manage user sessions effectively to enhance application performance and scalability.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns is expected, enabling the candidate to write clean, modular, and reusable code that adheres to best practices in software architecture.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) SDK is important, including the ability to integrate cloud-based services into applications and leverage AWS tools for storage, messaging, and compute capabilities.
  • A working knowledge of cloud services is required, with the ability to deploy, monitor, and manage applications in cloud environments, ensuring high availability and resilience.
  • Proficiency in Spring and Spring-based technologies, such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security, is essential for building robust and secure Java applications.
  • The candidate must have extensive experience in designing, developing, and managing both SOAP and RESTful APIs, including a strong understanding of API security, versioning, and documentation best practices.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Candidates must be local to the Washington, D.C. Metro/Northern VA area – travel will not be reimbursed.
  • Ability to complete Background Investigation.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience working with Apache Kafka is a plus, especially in building real-time data pipelines and event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Camel is highly desirable, particularly in designing and implementing enterprise integration patterns and routing logic for complex data flows.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • AWS Certified Professional - Preferred.
