Job Description SummaryThe objective of this role is to provide first-class service and support to our GE Healthcare Solution for Enterprise Imaging (SEI) customers through a team of technical specialists for Radiology RIS, PACS and Cardiology IT solutions for Greater Frankfurt Area
You will act as a regular (monthly) on-site Field Engineer/ Senior IT System Engineer interfacing with the customers, respond to reported incident issues, attend regular service support visits, support a remote team of installation & upgrade on site, perform software O/S patching or Safety updates when needed, manage customer expectations, and ensure clear communication between the customer and GEHC.
This role is homebased and based in the area of Frankfurt/Rhine Main covering from there the Northern Part of Germany!

Job Description

Main responsibilities

Technical Service, Server Operations & Troubleshooting

  • Perform structured fault analysis across complex IT environments (servers, networks, applications), including the setup, installation, configuration, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of physical and virtual Windows and/or Linux servers. Analyze system, performance, and stability issues and implement sustainable solutions, including updates and upgrades.

Incident, Problem & Change Management

  • Provide independent on‑site and remote troubleshooting, support Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes, and ensure high system availability and technical quality.

Customer & Service Execution

  • Act as a professional point of contact for internal stakeholders and, where applicable, customers. Manage service activities end‑to‑end, ensure SLA compliance, response times, and customer satisfaction.

Documentation, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, tickets, and service reports while adhering to quality, safety, and compliance requirements. Collaborate closely with internal teams (Service, Engineering, Support, Sales) and external partners, and contribute to IT projects such as migrations, upgrades, and new system architectures.

Qualification/Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Completed vocational training in IT (e.g. IT Specialist for System Integration) or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator
  • Strong knowledge of server setup and operations, particularly Windows Server (Linux knowledge is a plus)
  • Solid technical experience with networking, operating systems, databases, and end-user support
  • Proven experience in systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis (log analysis, monitoring, RCA)

Basic Knowledge in the Following Areas

  • Virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper‑V)
  • MySQL, Oracle DB und PL/SQL
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewall basics)
  • Backup and recovery concepts

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel: approximately 30% on-site work with assigned customers
  • Very strong German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Valid Class B driving license
