POSITION SUMMARY
Owens & Minor, Inc., a FORTUNE 500 company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is a leading national distributor of name-brand medical and surgical supplies and a healthcare supply-chain management company.
With a diverse product and service offering and distribution centers throughout the United States, the company serves hospitals, integrated healthcare systems, alternate site locations, group purchasing organizations, and the federal government. Owens & Minor provides technology and consulting programs that improve inventory management and streamline logistics across the entire medical supply chain--from origin of product to patient bedside.
The senior IT Project Manager manages the design, development, and delivery of assigned IT projects. The Project manager is a liaison between the business, third-party vendors, and IT to ensure seamless project execution.
Candidate job functions include:
- Establish project goals and create plans to achieve them.
- Develop a detailed project plan, budget estimates, and track against actuals.
- Ensure compliance with project standards and best practices.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and prepare mitigation plans.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure all project deliverables are tracked and completed.
- Influence change and enhance team performance at a sustainable pace.
- Create metrics and reports to help the assigned project team(s) understand their health and progress; use these metrics and reports to set appropriate goals.
- Ensure clear communication and collaboration among all members of the cross-functional team.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Seven or more years of relevant Program/Project Management or Supply Chain experience.
- A proven track record of successfully implementing large-scale, complex projects.
- A solid understanding of both Agile and traditional project management principles
- Experience in using tools like MS Project Plan, Atlassian tools like Confluence, JIRA
- Experience as a Project Manager overseeing large, complex projects with multi-functional teams across different applications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills and ability to present project status to leadership
- Ability to define issues, business and technology needs, and implement solutions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new business and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Supply Chain or Distribution environments
- Experience implementing large-scale IT infrastructure and Security projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Additional Requirements
- Some travel required, both domestic and international
